I totally agree with you. FF1 was a good Ultima 4 clone, but since then they put out exactly the same game every year! Not to mention they are far too linear to be considered real RPGS. They have more in common with the Sierra games of old.
Since when was Crouching Tiger a Hollywood movie? It was produced in China, directed by a Taiwanese (Ang Lee), starring a Malaysian (Michelle Yeoh), and a Hong Kongnese (Chow Yun-Fat).
How is Sun leeching off the Open Source community? They Open Sourced the StarOffice source code, and the community decided to port it to Mac OS X. Now, Sun will sell OpenOffice.org for Mac OS X as StarOffice. The source code remains open and publicly available. I don't see Sun leeching off of the community at all.

Good open source games for Windows would be:
:)
Abuse/fRaBs
Wolfenstein 3D
Doom
Quake
Quake II
With all the id games, I believe the levels are still copyrighted. Nothing wrong with running user created levels though.
Also, Mozilla and OpenOffice.org are indispensible.

Are you sure this thing works?
Both http://www.taipeitimes.com and http://www.chinatimes.com.tw are reported as being accessible in China.
Also, I believe it is 4 star and above hotels in China that do not have restrictions on Sattelite TV and Internet access.

Will it run Linux?
