I think you're thinking of someone else. Abraham lived to be 175, and Moses lived to be 120, IIRC.

Perhaps you're thinking of the antediluvian patriarchs. Noah was one of the younger ones at like 600.

I'm afraid that the US will, for the time being, continue to prosecute its bogeyman theories, while the bogeymans themselves (Russia, Cuba, Iran, and so on), will continue on despite, or perhaps in spite. One thing is certain if not a constant in each case. Someone is Really Pissed Off. Doesn't hurt to ask, or consider why that is.
Oh, I can tell you why they hate us. It's no secret that we stand in their way. They want to do things that are bad, and we don't want to let them. Just like a child who has his pointed stick taken away, or the criminal who is disarmed.

I have been studying up on Russia (when it was the U.S.S.R.). We were giving them all the help they ever could possibly ask for: supplies, food, war materiel (during the war), money, etc. But they never changed their stance, and as soon as the crisis was over, they started right back to hating us openly.

On the other hand, I may have misunderstood your entire 'bogeyman' statement. If so, you're going to have to explain better.

I think it's important to note that all Israeli soldiers were wearing uniforms (making them targets in order to protect surrounding civilians) while Hezbollah fighters were not (making it difficult, if not impossible, to determine who is who).

Hezbollah was using civilians as cover.

Well, I think they gained some of their character back by coming clean. Then they immediately lost it again by whining about getting canned.

Character is a precious thing. I hear at school all the time, when someone comes clean and they still get the consequences, "So this is what I get for telling the truth?" No, that's what you get for (insert broken rule here). What you get for telling the truth is trust and respect.

I think one reason that they don't sell governors in cars is because of the entire way cars are sold today. They are speed machines. Just watch a commercial. The whole idea of governors doesn't jive with the philosophy behind those commercials. Safety sells, yes, but only after speed and manliness.

I'm not just trolling. I guess my curiosity is more about the specifics. I usually think of the study of evolution as trying to understand the past instead of predict the future. I will have to look in to how the two are related. I often get stuck in a rut and only look at things from one point of view.

No, I suspect the difference between us is that you speak English and Hungarian, and I speak English and Spanish. If the people spoke slowly and patiently, I could survive in Italy, Brazil, Portugal, and maybe even France. Could you survive in Mexico or Guatemala? I think it has more to do with differences between our experiences and needs than on anything else. I didn't learn Hungarian because there was no need. There WAS need for me to learn Spanish and English. I was just trying to be funny, not slight your country. I even went and read more of your posts on the subject, and there is some interesting stuff there.

In one of those posts, you spoke of the Prime Minister that wouldn't ally himself with the Nazis, and how he and his son died under suspicious circumstances. That sounds like a very interesting story. I am curious, what was the Prime Minister's plan with regards to the Nazis? Was he going to fight and lose like the French, or surrender and submit to occupation like the Danish? I'm just curious. It would be a tough call to make, knowing that an army you can't hope to compete with is ready to overrun your country. I also don't know the role Hungary played in WWII. Did they end up having to send soldiers to fight with the Nazis? I have read stories about Belgium, France, Denmark, and other places under Nazi control, and wonder if Hungary was similar, or how it was different.
