Now Spielberg might have save parts of it but the influence of Kubrick is still very palpable in the mediocrity of the scenario... my my my...
I have to disagree with you there. Steve had to add that hokey - schmaltzy ending with the future aliens (or robots) giving "David" his wish of one more day with his "mother". If he left the boy/robot wishing from the "Blue Fairy" under the ocean as the ending, it would have been a great and dark ending. Instead, it's a Steve Spielberg pop-corny ending. Of course if I knew anything, I'd be the billionaire movie producer/director.
Although sony isn't the best, I'd hate to see them go the way of the dodo.
That's interesting. SONY used to be considered the top of the line. (Shows you how much time I spend shopping for electronics.) I wonder what happened. Did they get tired of being the innovators and decide to become the followers: at least in consumer electronics?
Around 750 applications were screened by a Wall Street Journal editor, who narrowed the field to 104 semifinalists.
I have to wonder if there were any ideas that didn't make the final 104 that might have been better than the others but didn't sound as interesting or "cool" to the editor.
For the "Conservatives" and the "Liberals" here: There's a couple of neighborhoods here in Atlanta that are 100% African-American. The lowest price house is about $1,000,000.00. They live there out of choice and they can live anywhere they want. Oh, there's no poor housing at all in these neighborhoods. So why do you suppose that they live in an ethically "un-diverse" neighborhood? How about this: a lot of people like to live with people that they have something in common with. And it's not just white and black. It's also: French with French, Poles with Poles, Spanish with Spanish, Chinese with Chinese, Vietnamese with Vietnamese, etc... And even then, how many neighborhoods are even more segragated than that?
What I'm getting at is if government isn't segregating out of policy - why is it a problem?
I went to withdraw from an ATM. I put the card in, entered my PIN, and selected the amount I wanted - $200. The ATM goes nuts and procedes to give me only $160 while debiting my account two transactions: one for $200 and another for $160. I call my credit union and I tell them what happened. They tell me to fax a letter stating that I was diputing the $200. I did. They audited the ATM.
Long story short, the credit union backed out the $200 debit.
Also, I'm sure there's folks in government that's pushing for the manned flight because of a fear that China will get there first. I don't know exactly why that would be a bad thing. To keep others off, they would have to bring weapons and troups. There would have to be some really valuable minerals there to be worth it.
That's probably why they were hired. I think MS is starting to get really serious about their security. I bet they're really tired of the constant bad PR about their security and I bet that in some biz segment the perceived lack of security is affecting their business.
I think it's a plot by BG. He's using the hackers to break into government sites for world control! Yeah! You'll see. All of those white hats will die in mysterious ways! And he'll put bugs purposely into his code so that he can sell upgrades!
old darkroom paradigm? I loved working in darkrooms and there were things that one could do with an enlarger for effects - lightening/darkening some areas of a photo, increasing contrast, masks & filters, tectures, etc... use your imagination.
Or are they using their own terms for prcedures and effects? I ask this because I used to work in darkrooms with film and I'm wondering how would I transition to digital.
On another note, I really miss using the chemicals, film, and paper. Digital still hasn't achieved the image quality of film - but it's getting there real quick! Sigh....
If our government (US) has to concentrate on a "Space Race" as opposed to invading countries to promote democracy, I say GREAT! I'd rather have my tax money for a space race anyday. Space races, although expensive, have positive results. Wars, on the other hand, rarely have positive results. Yeah, yeah, WWII was a necessary war, but I'm talking about these wars that don't do much except get a lot of innocent people hurt because of some ideology.
The next president, whether Republican or Democrat, is likely to terminate the remains of the US manned program.
If that should happen, then that would be a sign to me that the US is definitely in decline. I have a hope that this current trend of declining interest in science and engineering will turn around one day and we (the US) will go back to being the creators that we once were. I'm not saying that everyone needs to become a scientist or an engineer (I for one have no talent for it: just a fan). I'm just saying that hopefully we'll start to encourage our youth to pursue their interests in those areas instead of telling them, no showing them with outsourcing/offshoring, that they're better off going to medical or law school if they want to have a secure future.
This latest controversy is part and parcel to a complicated dispute over Thompson's bizarre offer to donate $10K to charity provided that a developer create and distribute a violent game of Thompson's specification in which the victims were industry executives and their families.
but given that he has Asperger's Syndrome, should it not be in his best interest to give the job of CEO to somebody who is more charismatic
The job of a CEO is to provide direction and strategy for an organization. I would say that maybe he needs a PR person. He seems to be doing quite well as the CEO.
The other thing that has me thinking - who diagnosed his illness? I've met quite a few people who said that they had various illnesses. When I asked them about the diagnosis and what the physician (or some other qualified expert) said, they don't say anything about an expert diagnosis: just something vague. I don't know about him, but I think a lot of folks use popular illnesses as an excuse for their own shortcomings or as an excuse for not doing something that they're not interested in doing.
I like to add one thing. I was once talking to a IT director for a very large company here in Atlanta. I mentioned the current MS licensing agreement and how scary it was. His response: "Yes, it's very scary." I asked him what are they going to do about it. He just said something about reviewing other options. I took it as "Bend over and take it."
It was a small company. Everyone had iMacs (the original flavor ones) and the servers are Macs. Inside the firm there wasn't any problem what so ever. Although, I have to admit, we used MS Office Mac. Other than that; all Apple. The only problem that I came across was sending Office docs to Windows users. You had to make sure you did a "Save as" and add the appropriate file extension. Because if you didn't, a Windows box wouldn't recognize the file as an Office doc and most users don't know to do a "rename" and add the extension. I didn't know this at first and my first assumption was that I emailed a corrupt file.
The storry of "Dracula" was invented by someone who probably didn't even know which continent Romania is on.
I'm an American, and I know it's in Europe. And not only that, I know Romania is in Italy. Because that's where the Roman empire was and the city of Rome, so obviously, Romania is in Italy. Oh wait, Romain lettuce is grown in California USA, so maybe Romania is in the USA.
If they answer yes, then redirect them to www.disney.com. Otherwise, allow them access. It's works great for the pr0n industry. You know, the question they like to ask "Are you 18 years of age or older?" This is fine for the politicians regarding pr0n access, why not for Google maps?
Politicians, they are sooo paranoid, except when it comes for fiscal reponsibility.
and then get the dog to chase its tail. The cops will then think your just driving in really small circles. You then make your gettaway while they're looking for you.
Cool idea. But, if I was running hard during my workout, my gait will change because of pain and stiffness for a day or so. I'd be screwed while I'm healing from an intense workout. Then again, I'm a bit cranky while I'm healing so it might be a good thing if I can't take calls. Especially from customers.

Well, if you talk to yourself about a problem, wouldn't that be intellectual masturbation?

Isn't it spelled "Frist Psot!"?

I use FF most of the time, but unfortunately, there's plenty of websites that won't work unless you're using IE. I hate it, but I have no choice.
Fuck, I'm not using phones, internet, or think bad thoughts anymore! They are out to get us!

God, I'm getting really pessimistic in my old age!

What would that prove?
what a jackass.

Forgive my spelling, but I have spellexia.
