It doesn't matter if a swimmer has the best fins in the world if the guys in speedos mate more frequently and have enough progeny to ensure that some survive the attacks of their quicker swimming brethren.
Are you implying something about slashdotters here?
dang I better get rid of that wet suit now - should have know that wasn't getting the girls...
I'm not in this field, but I would assume that in the context in this thread it is not evaporating but used sort of incorrectly (IANABC) and probably what is meant is that the protein stays put and doesn't send out little pieces to alert the immune system that a foreigner is present, but then again, I am not a BioChemist.
Not to fuss, but you nees at least 2 capacitors for proper regulation:-)
Problem with 9 volt battery & regulator is the quiescent current which can drain the battey by itself - LM 7805 outputs an amp, quiescent current is in mA. Maybe a LM2936 if 50 mA output is sufficient (the quiescent current with that chip is in micro amps).
SInce we're dealing with batteries whose voltage should be fairly stable, probably a string of diodes to drop the voltage to around 5 volts. I can't imagine that the voltage tolerances are extremely tight - +- 0.3 V is probably OK (without looking at specs).
However if you take that car battery and decide to run both the iPod AND the car off of it, that 5V regulator looks mighty good
In any event, yeah, instead of operating on the iPod and obtaining a sacrificial USB cable extender and hooking it up to {some external powersource} is a good idea - especially if you're using the ipod in a "mission critical" application:-)
Of course what could happen is that the sound discombobulates a herd of whales who then swim in the general direction of the sound who the crash into the source of the sound and the ship sinks anyway.
:-)
Either that or you get a bunch of dolphins who start throwing fish at the ship because they came over when they heard that horrible noise and expected to meet "Madonna"
:-):-)
Actually I know some who did just that, but it was a while back (like 30+ years ago...)
and while he did get 10% interest, it was off of $100,000 which at
the time was enough to support him. Of course with inflation and
now 1 - 3% interest rates, I'm sure he had to find work - so you're right,
what seems like a bonanza that you could live off of now might not be so
significiant in the future.
Unless you win that $250,000,000 lotto:-)
But then things gets boring if all you're doing is sitting on your yacht surrounded by beautiful...{bye}
Seriously, how do we assign liability when a self-driven car kills someone?
Actually, 50% of all cars on the road are self driven. Just stand by a roadway (not in it) and watch what people are doing in their cars - putting on makeup, reading newspapers, changing clothes, surfing the web...
Believe it or not I'm not being too off base...I often walk in an area next to the highway and see what people are doing in their cars...
>Cue posts about hospitals running Windows... ok, in certain circs there is a valid agrument. I don't think you can stretch it to cover the average Joe. A refund might be nice, though.
Perhaps. But a computer virus can infest many many systems.
A car accident can only propagate so far. Just hope that someday when one of us is in the hospital, a virus doesn't get into their system and scramble our info in the data base or delay a blood transfusion.
I wouldn't be surprised if the main structure could be plastic, with a thin(ner) outer shell of some metal. You get the heat (and tinfoil:-)) shielding from the outer shell but most of the strength would come from the plastic.
If I were designing that thing, I'd put a space between metal shell and plastic - then you have insulation (or a thermos - open the valve in space to evacuate.:-))
Actually the servers are powered by cute little hamsters wearing ultra miniature iPods running in wheels powering generators - that explains why iTunes get slow at times as servers go off line when the little iPods start playing Britney...wait I think I feel a hamster dance coming on...
Also hardware repairs, and I'm sure that their super broadband (or whatever) connections cost a bit more than the alfalfa they feed the hamsters...
Ding!
Absolutely agree.
This is NOT censorship.
Just like a parent should keep tabs on where the kids go and who the friends are, a parent should be somewhat aware of what the kids are doing on the computer. Not so that the parent can hover and smother, but just so the parent can help, discuss, understand what the kids are about.
Also, to make sure that the kids are doing their homework when they are supposed to...
Give the kids their privacy. But that computer screen is in the living room in plain view. Don't read their e-mail over their shoulders. But if they've got swastikas or gory pictures popping up, perhaps they need a bit a of help.
uhhhh I think thats the general idea... :-)
That's wonderful, but what will dog owners do when their dogs need to make do? Right now, the NY Times is the best paper around for that... :-)

Know a good Speedo store in the area?
:-)
Here is an example of a paper with the term "Non-volatile protein"

I've actually been known to do that - for my cameras...

Is the principal protected in any way?

No wonder Jedi's sex lives are like - are like - that of slash dotters
As Anakin would say when he woke up wearing the black halloween costume:
"Nnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooo!"
However, the movie made it seem that she died from the childbirth.
And she lost the will to live.... {teeth gritting}
But yeah, strangulation could have medical complications but if that was the case, the movie passed it by.
By the way I did like the movie - the scenes that were poorly played or written were actually funny (except this one - {grit teeth again})
I'd like to kow why a culture with faster than light space ships and cars that levitate, the ability
to install cybernetic limb replacements, recover from near-death
hypothermia has so much difficulty with
Maternity medical problems...

All those vibrations when taking off - it's just to shake up all the coke bottles

They're rebuilding the internet to make it more secure, eliminate spam, virus, spoofing and so on.
Bad News:
Initiative will use Microsoft programming techniques as its foundation.
:-) :-)
{just joking}

You're right - life is hard enough as it is.
Besides, rest mass is so much more relaxing, and none of my neighbors & friends are anywhere near relativistic.
Whats a little p2 c2 between friends?
Uh...Isn't that how they make Gyros?
(There goes my lunch plan for today...)
Are we in the minority? Does everyone else have photographic memeories? Or they just don't care?
I have a few shelves full of my old textbooks, and I do refer to some of them from time to time for both my work AND for fun.
Learning is NOT over once the course has finished.

Some things I agree with... But SGI good science? no way!
