killing somebody is not a form of punishment and hence cannot be "deserved"
If that were true, wouldnt you see more people in prison for life appealing for death instead of the other way around? If it was not a punishment these DR inmates would not be wasting money and time on appeal after appeal (unless you are mistakenly believing that EVERYONE on DR is innocent)
You seem to have overlooked the simpler and obvious explanation: that people wish to continue living.
I dropped my S5 in the Pearl River last month. Took about 10 minutes to fish out it again (was damned lucky to get it back at all, really). Still works like a charm. YMMV but that'll do nicely for me.
Uh, what? Since there's no -1, Incredibly Stupid moderation, I'll save mod points and respond
If he's not a native speaker, he certainly covers it well to fool me--I'm a native English speaker with about 2 decades experience as a writer/editor in that language, and I'd be happy to interview him for a job my team is looking to fill.
Perhaps, in your mind, "moron" means "someone whose sentences are long enough that I actually have to think about what they mean"?
It's not like smoke and fumes make you unconscious immediately.
If it was just fumes and they were odourless or nearly so, then it's quite conceivable that the pilots could have been incapacitated before they could react, particularly if their attention was occupied with something else already.
Yes. We can be assured that there's always another self-absorbed drama queen coming round the bend, ready and willing to provide us a bit of free entertainment to spice up an otherwise dull moment. Isn't life grand?
oddly enough, the vast majority of rap fans are white, not black.... it gives me the giggles every time I hear the exagerated thump-thump from a "pimped" white boy's wheels, extolling the impending vengeance of the "black man":) too funny...
It's only rock'n'roll.
There's a brand new dance But I don't know its name That people from bad homes Do again and again
(In case you don't get it: The white kids have been copying the black kids' music since practically forever.)
Your first "example" is actually lifted from a parody originally performed by Eddie Murphy on Saturday Night Live in 1982. I saw it the first time it ran.
I think some folks might have their outlook changed were they to visit another country where the majority are of a different race than their own.
I've spent a fair amount of time in China. Most folks there don't seem to have a problem with me being white/foreign. But I do occasionally run into someone whose dislike of me based on those criteria is obvious. It's an eye-opener, to say the least.
[S]ome people are not worth letting live, but thats the reality of it. Not everyone is worthy of life, deal with it.
Even if we accept this as fact--and I do not--you yourself note that
[Y]ou are not in the position to make that determination.

Obvious troll is obvious.
And this, kids, is why you don't drink a 6-pack on the golf course and then post on Slashdot.
Damn, I knew as soon as I posted, I'd find something I wanted to mod up.

And they have the same right to have their edits subject to scrutiny as anyone else.
Trying to perform "perception management" under the radar is *not* a legitimate function of democratic governance.
The fact that someone is editing Wikipedia to make the NYPD look better to readers might be considered newsworthy.
Non-native English speaker moron post.

That's my theory, at any rate.
Then they're not Satanists. Really.
Please engage sarcasm detector before posting next time.
Calling someone both "Godless" and "Satanic" is a contradiction in terms.

Views that are worth having are worth defending against opposing ones.
"Jimmy steals from the shops, Ma, so it's okay for me to do it, too."
And someone called *me* a real dick earlier today...

That's not hate speech--it's incitement to murder.
As a millenial I dont find racism offensive, I find it contemptuous.
You're too young to realize that there is actually some element of truth in racism.
You're too ignorant to realise that racism is complete bunk.

Yes, but--If it looks like a fox, walks like a fox, and barks like a fox... It's not at all unreasonable to conclude that we're talking about a fox.
I love it when idiots such as yourself try to play word games in order to justify their false beliefs.
