I was not in agreement much the time with the elder Bush when he was in office. But at least he knew enough to look and act the part, and to speak about things in a somewhat intelligent fashion.

My opposition to Trump stems not so much from his political or philosophical positions (he essentially has none), but rather from the fact that he was plainly incompetent and quite possibly detached from reality having spent all his life surrounded by yes-men. He's done nothing but confirm this since he's been in office. Add to that the fact that the same crew who engineered his election victory were also responsible for engineering the Brexit vote.

Oh, and treason. Lots and lots of treason.

If, in your mind, you need to get coffee from a coffee shop to bring to work, you are probably still in school or work for now, and have always worked for, shit companies who haven't figured out that the cost of caffeine is easily offset by the improvement in productivity providing it confers.

Or maybe you've noticed that the free coffee invariably sucks and/or the machine's out of order half the time.

When I still worked in the office, I kept my own beans, grinder, electric kettle, and plunger pot there: "Y'all can drink that swill if you like; I prefer coffee, thanks."

One has to remember what is the political environment in which these calls are made. Macron is extremely unpopular in France across the board, after being elected as essentially "that bankster that managed to get to run-off against the woman media called every nasty name they can think of for decades". He was fairly unpopular when he was elected, and since he conducted his policies as would be expected out of a man who's essentially a full on elitist throughout his career, his popularity is worse than Hollande's.

I'll just leave these facts here: In the runoff, Macron got twice as many votes as his opponent, who only managed to win in two departments. In the subsequent legislative elections, En Marche won an absolute majority in the National Assembly (308 to 8 for the National Front). In America, we would say, "Macron ate Le Pen's lunch." Macron's popularity is no worse than that of Hollande, Sarkozy, or Chirac at the same point in their terms, and he's actually doing slightly better than Hollande.

Even if your obvious hate-boner for Macron didn't make your bias evident, your portrayal of the fascist Mme Le Pen as some sort of victim of the media certainly does.

Why are you so reluctant to name her or her party, BTW?

And, yes, my current sig is a quote ("There is no planet B") from the man. Why not? It's true.

If you read more carefully, you'll find that many of those people are visiting China, and while there trying to exercise a dual nationality that the PRC does not recognise. The PRC recognises two citizenships: "Chinese" and "Other". Pick one.

Iran does the same sort of thing, and folks who insist on retaining their Iranian citizenship and then travel there often find themselves in the same sorts of trouble.

The US State Department makes it very clear that A dual citizen may be subject to the laws of the other country that considers that person its citizen while in that country's jurisdiction... Dual nationality may hamper efforts to provide U.S. consular protection to dual citizens in the foreign country of their other nationality. (See page 7 of your US passport.)

The best thing to do if you are a citizen of either country, you become naturalised elsewhere, and your original citizenship is not revoked (China does this customarily to its nationals living overseas who take on a foreign citizenship, I've no idea about Iran), is to renounce your former citizenship, and make sure it's official under the laws of your original country. Do not attempt to return to your native country as a citizen of that country. Use your US passport, obtain a visa as a US citizen, and do not mention anything about dual nationality or previous nationality to any official of the other country. If you do--see above.
