I'd be happy if my local telco would extricate its cranium from its anus and get some Internet going through all the Fiber we have going to my brand new neighborhood instead of just letting it sit dim with only phone service going through it . All our friggin house are wired with Cat5 for crying out loud and there is not ONE option for internet here from the telco besides dial-up . Nice waste of money ! OH and we are close to the offic so we would all be DSL ready except they CAN'T do DSL over fiber . SO I'm stuck with cable internet and they charge WHATEVER they like .
What doe sthis say about how advanced a country is when even their police departments understand cyber life well enough to grasp the thought of an MMPORG mugging . Can you imagine calling the Police in say Kansas City and explaining to them how Zoltare the Unmerciful is repeatedly muggin your character Meri the Fancy . Last I checked hybrid cars had a BIG drawback . That is that the batteries cost more to replace than the car is worth and in disposing of them you have created more permanent pollution than otherwise would have occured with gasoline .
Also purely electric cars don't "ELIMINATE" pollution . They just outsource it . I hope all the eco awareness groups feel happy knowing that instead of burning that icky evil polluting gasoline they are instead charging their cars with "clean" electricity . I might add that close to 90% of all the electricity in the US is generated by burning fossil fuel and coal . This process is just a TAD dirtier than running your car on premium unleaded (sarcasm ) . We of course live in a "see no evil hear no evil " society . If you can't see that power plant putting all those extra cubic tons of greenhouse gases and carcinogens into the air then it doesn't exist .
Oh now lets get to my favorite part . Does anyone here have any idea what this kind of run up on battery production will do to the enviroment ? No ? Well let me tell you that producing all those lead / cadium batteries is EXTREMELY toxic and we can expect the toxic waste output of those factories to rise exponetially .

NOW a smart way out of this would be free upgrades to people with the non-HD-DVD drives . Just have a UPS label in the box and a form to fill out . Then you just put the xbox back in the carton annd drop it off at ups when HD-DVD is ready .
Sure it'll cost more BUT it won't punish diehard xboxers .
Honestly if it weren't for downloading music I would never buy CD's . At least this way I can preview the music before I buy . It seems like lately alot of bands put MAYBE one good song on the cd and the rest is filler . I got sick of buying CD's that I only listen to one track off of . Now I preview the bands newest offereings online . If I like a few of the songs I buy the CD . If its a one song $20 dollar cd with two discs of filler I pass .
If apple were to release OSX for the general market it'd give Microsoft a run for their money . I'm willing to bet that given the choice of either OSX or Microsoft allot of people would hit apple . Unlike Linux the general public doesn't view OSX/Apple as being complicated . As a matter of fact people view apple as windows for dummies . I hear people say it all the time . I love the stability of OSX myself . Microsoft would be hard pressed to provide a more functional and stable operating system than OSX . Also if apple did this maybe they could subsidize their computer pricing with their software sales and thereby sell more systems at a lower price and make it back up on the software .

I just can't believe that with 16.2 BILLION they can't even keep pieces of the space shuttle from just falling off indiscriminately .
IF an airplane such as the 747 were to have pieces falling off of it I'm sure that the FAA would have a fit until the problem was fixed and keep it from flying .

We just accept that things are going to break.Instead of builder a better mouse trap we just build five times as many to replace those that break and then train extra mouse trap layer to replace the ones who were injured when the springs flew off and got stuck in their eye .

We need to have a kick in the butt . I mean come on the space shuttle can't even land on the moon . The only thing its good for is orbiting the earth . The president needs to drop the gauntlet for the defense contractors and tell them we need a reusable launch vehicle that has the capability to make an extraterrestrial landing .
I say we go back to the moon SOON and aggressively pursue that goal .

I could never understand how they could cancel Futurama but put American Dad on the air . The show is so stupid and boring that it's not even funny . Futurama was a great show and I still catch the reruns on A.S. . Fox makes some stupid decisions with their programing .
