The Red Cross aren't field medics. Their mission is not to patch you up so you can go kill some more enemies, like a health pack in a game. You really need to RTFA before posting.
Oh man, you need to use a bunch of smart playlists. I have the playlist for my Nano 4G made up of several smart playlists, which select songs based on my ratings, how new the song is, how long it has been since I last listened to it, how many times I've listened, etc etc. Every time I plug it in, I get a different mix of songs, but it still keeps new songs and favorites around, too.
"The big bang theory" is a technically correct way of referring to the big bang theory and "The big bang fact" would technically be incorrect.
It is a fact that the universe was smaller in the past. It is a fact that it receeded from itself very rapidly in the early epochs. It is a fact that the popular name for this event is the Big Bang. There is much investigation into the genesis (snicker) of this event, but there is no controversy about whether the event occured.
People defend "GLBT-friendly" - would they defend "Aryan-friendly" or "pedo-friendly" as much as they do "GLBT-friendly?"
Nice. These comparisons of GLBT players wanting to be free from harassment from the immature players, to white supremacists and child predators, are not winning you any friends on the other side of the debate. Do you think you could come up with something a little less insulting, or do you just want to piss people off?
This has nothing to do with political correctness. Blizzard is a business and as such has a responsibility to maximize profits for its shareholders, not play PC police.
Blizzard also operates their business in the real world and must comply with real world laws, regulations and customs. Their real world business does not get to play by fantasy role-playing rules.
If you have a problem with it, LEAVE! Don't give them your money.
You forgot the last step: Join in as many message boards as you care to, and help Blizzard get all the bad publicity they deserve for this boneheaded move.
You want to change the world? Don't start with a stupid GAME - write your politicians to legalize gay marriage, start petitions, attend rallies and be more proactive in real life. This is only a game.
Then why are you so excited about it, if it's "just a game?" Gosh, you have put in as much energy as anyone else. You posted about it on a message board. Woo.
By the way, "it" didn't start with this game. It started with the Mattachine Society in the 50's and really got started with a riot against police harassment in Greenwich Village in June 1969.
In California and many other states, there are laws against discrimination in public accomodations based on sexual orientation. If Blizzard doesn't like the rules in California, they can withdraw the game from this state. End of story.
My company owns several dozen terabyte-sized databases, and I don't see them getting any smaller. 300 Tb does not seem out of the question a year or so from now. The storage capacity of NAS servers are approaching the petabyte range. I can see having a petabyte-sized NetApp filer for backup staging in a couple years' time.
So, why not do it? I'm convinced it's because of 1 of 2 reasons:
AG Gonzales has already publically stated what the problem is.
But in order to initiate surveillance even under a FISA emergency authorization, it is not enough to rely on the best judgment of our intelligence officers alone. Those intelligence officers have to get the sign-off of lawyers at the NSA that all provisions of FISA have been satisfied, then lawyers in the Department of Justice would have to be similarly satisfied, and finally as Attorney General I have to be satisfied that the search meets FISA's requirements. All of this must happen before I can authorize even an emergency wiretap under FISA.
Basically, it's too much trouble for them to do their jobs. No, really. This is actually what he said.
I just resumed playing EVE after an absence of 2 1/2 years, and everything is still there, including the last in-game email I got, which was from my insurance company about the loss of my Exequeror cruiser. My character even finished Gallente Cruiser Level IV training while my account was cancelled.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a provably secure, open cryptography-supported way to make sure elections are fair and allow anyone to investigate fraud?
Yes, and that's exactly why it can't^Wwon't be used.
I'm not sure ancestor-worship is all that. It's big in China, but I don't think it will fly here. How about instead adopting the attitude that the only rights you have, are the ones you actually exercise. This brings the focus back to the present, not the past.
Oh good! A sense of humor. Nice to see that instead of a nasty, defensive retort. You know I was just playin'. And if you're having fun it wasn't wasted time. We should group up sometime for a raid.;)
You can pick up OEM 250GB hard drives for around $100. Toss in a $50 USB case or a SATA case and you're looking at $1.67 a GB storage. Plus you're not limited to 4.5GB file size.
Are you using that special hard drive manufacturer mathematics?:) $100 + $50 = $150 / 250GB = $0.60 per GB. Your calculation was for 1.67 Gb per dollar. $1.67/Gb is about what you'd pay for an external SATA RAID5 enclosure with 3 or 4 disks.
In October 2004, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials in Anchorage, Alaska, seized 20,000 suspected fake Memorex USB memory key thumb drives from Asia.
Doesn't this really mean that the same piece of hardware that Memorex imports with their name on it, was imported with Memorex's name on it by someone other than Memorex? I have a hard time wrapping my brain around the idea that Memorex USB key drives are somehow exclusive enough to encourage a counterfeit market. Aren't they all like five bucks, no matter who you get them from?
Are we to then conclude that the American people LIKE mine distasters, and want more of them? The market has spoken, and energy consumers do not want to pay for mine safety. 12 people are dead, and we're all OK with that, it would seem. The invisible hand once again triumphs.

I guess the guy who modded you "insightful" never noticed the ASCII boobies in your .signature. That post was funny!

So does any browser. It's what HTML and HTTP were designed to do.

So does my personal copy of your site, thanks again to HTTP.

So does any proxy.

But tell me, which is "worse" spedning 4 hours in from of the tube with a controller in a completely self absorbed activity...
Which has an ending.
or spending 4 hours in an MMO where you actually can speak and interact with actual people.
Good thing you didn't say "actual women." That would have been humorous.

Some multiplayer quests in WoW take several hours -- if my hours are wasted ....
There's something deliciously ironic about this statement, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is, exactly...
That seems to satisfy both camps if they just let it.
Except that the other camp won't. IDers want this crap to be taught as science. You have to oppose that, or else, who will?

Oh my. Well, let's just say that I'm glad you aren't in charge of anything important.
Or, maybe you are, and that's the problem with it.
Tort reform, increase cost of unsafe business - you guys never fail to give me a belly laugh.
Why did Ludwig write this awful piece?
It was not free
Of that I'm sure.
The money, all in cash, came from Elise
Thus it was she
He wrote it Für.
(sung to the tune of Für Elise, of course)

No. It's too easy to be a crackpot.
If scientists were really seeking uncover truth, they'd have repeated his work at five different labs and see if it held up.
Right, they're just going to abandon their own research to confirm someone else's. Yeah, that's how science should work.
