You're obviously not wiping your ass properly... seriously.

Until the age of 14 I allways had the same problems you did, until I figured out it was more affective to wipe my ass from the front while sitting down (ie your hand goes between your legs, under the scrotom and wipes the ass).

The other method (wiping from the back) has the problem of wiping the poo into your ass pubic hairs and thus getting stuck there.

Whereas wiping from the front, you eliminate the problem from the source (so to say)....Try it :)

Or alternatively if you could take control of your own pleasure system you could train your brain to learn anything. Like if I had to learn something particularly boring I could switch my brain into a happy state so that it associates a happy tag to this particular event and so would be desirable to repeat the event in future. Though you've got the difficulty of the brain associating happy states to pressing the happy button, I suppose you could avoid that by having an external operator.

Also the potential for abuse is too great.

If you can speak both Mandarin Chinese and English then your prospects are good. If just English you'd have to join a company which has outside interests. But it is very difficult for foreigners to integrate with the society.

The problem with the chinese mindset is that while they are great at understanding problems they have difficulty thinking outside the box and reaching conclusions, due to their education system just throwing facts at them.

Westerners tend to be brought in to reorganise companies and make them more efficient, so foreigners can be highly prized. These tend to be at the highest positions in the company.

P.S. I'm am not a supervisor, I'm just a lowly IT worker, and I get paid peanuts. I'm just here to improve my chinese.

I'm currently living/working in Guangzhou China () for my summer holiday.

I've noticed in the factory here you are expected to work overtime not by your boss but by your peers. It is common to see most people work 1 or 2 hours overtime, sometimes until 9pm. I end up feeling guilty if I leave at the offical time (5pm) because I am normally the only one to do so.

But you've got to take into account the population density and lack of social security, the wages here aren't the best, and if you don't perform well enough you can easily get replaced, so you've got to make the most of what you get, due to this it's become the cultural behaviour.

Though wide differences between wages is common here, the IT supervisor can earn more than 10 times than the IT staff even though his work isn't that much difficult.

One reason I think is the fact that programming languages have become more high-level over time. Decreasing production time while sacrificing program efficiency.

While companies that can decrease the production time of creating a program will spend less money on the developers. Efficiency is not a priority as most users do not understand the concept. If a program runs slowly on a user's computer the novice user will think it's a problem with the computer and not the program.

I am an atheist(semi-buddhist) but am still very spirtual. My personal belief is that the ego transcends the mind, which bascially translates to every concious creature has the same ego. So if I hurt someone else then I am basically hurting myself. I derived this idea from assuming the universe is infinite in all directions, and though "quantum immortality" (search wikipedia for link) a creature will experence all forms of conciousness since it's ego is eternal. I beleive that the ego is immortal since if you die in one reality another reality with your exact thoughts will continue. Personaly I think this is what buddhism means by reincarnation. In fact this belief makes me more moralistic than any theist religious person, since many religious people just do good to please God.

Vernor Vinge is a sci-fiction author who was the first to coin up the term singularity, and uses the idea in some of his novels. Linkie: http://mindstalk.net/vinge/vinge-sing.html

If you would like to read one of his books I would suggest Across Realtime, which touches on this subject lightly. Although his other stories are somewhat less palatable for me (but I've only read three).

Other authors who delve more deeply into singularity issues are Greg Egan (hard going, but definatly worth reading) http://gregegan.customer.netspace.net.au/, Charles Stross's Accelerando http://www.accelerando.org/_static/accelerando.htm l, and .

Science fiction is odd as a genre since the authors minds are affected by the technology they see possible at the time of writing. Science fiction writers in the past depicted a future with minimal use of networked computers for instance. So the theme seems to change over time, whereas other genres remain pretty static.

Should we accredite people for something jsut because of thier age? Why is this story in the news? ...Well we can gain two things from this. For some people it might be a nobrainer on how to make your child have more potential to be succesfull, - you just introduce it to the right environment. But for the masses who don't know how to raise their child stories like these could be an inspiration to try harder, perhaps they should look at how his parents have brought him up and apply that same technique to their own children. Stories like these can also be used as a motivational factor for other people. It shows that anyone can get somewhere if they try hard enough. Well at least I'm impressed/motivated by this guy most people his age still have a localised view of the world.
