Very grown up reply. My opinion isn't a popular one. Fair enough. I've copped a lot of a abuse (which is expected in this community) but nothing close to a substantial argument. Abuse doesn't make you right. It just makes you look stupid.

Maybe Darwin was a Christian. Most people where back then. I don't find any evidence that he was devout though.

I'm a scientist and I haven't yet seen any proof of evolution despite years of looking. I don't just "accept" what people say. I prefer to investigate and examine things. It's called "scientific method". You can't just dismiss one side of the argument simply because you don't like what they say.

Evolution (and not micro evolution which is obvious and observable, but evolution by common descent, goo-to-you-via-the-zoo darwinism) is not compatible with Christianity, despite what some say. If man evolved from a micro-organism, then God did not create man in his own image, which is kinda fundamental to basic Christian faith.

Our plain old (Australian) free-to-air TV blew up a few weeks back, and the cost of repair (with 3 month warranty) was close to the cost of new identical TV (with 2 year warranty). According to that EPA page, man made emissions account for 544Tg/year and the natural sources you list account for 190Tg/year. Livestock accounts for 154.1Tg/year.

I don't think anyone would argue that micro-evolution within a species and natural selection happens. That's how man has been able to breed dogs and cats with various traits for example. This however does not explain universal common descent as postulated by Darwin. Breeding lizards to have longer or shorter legs is not evolution... it's breeding.

It makes people stop and think rather than just blindly obeying the red and green lights and pretty signs like pavlovs dogs, and ignoring their environment.

But just to stay off-topic with you... I think roundabouts are a brilliant idea. We have them all over Australia and in 99% of cases they work far better than traffic lights or intersections, since they enforce the "give way to the right" rule. I'm sure this is a common story. We battled for years with our son until he was diagnosed with Aspegers at 5 years old. We didn't let him watch any TV until he was 2 and then limited it to 0.5 hours per day of an "educational" type kids show. But TV is something that he finds comforting because there's no social loading. Social interaction is what autistic kids find the most difficult and scary, and TV lets them avoid that, hence they are attracted to it.
