protip: Just say you bought the copy at Best buy or somewhere and you do not understand why it does not work. This has never failed me, at least not for office. Play dumb, do not be smart with these people.
You received two cookies. I was promised two cookies. I am not joking. My boss asked if I had any push pins around, I told her I would give them to her for a freshly baked cookie. She said since it is the holidays she'll give me two and that I'd have them the next day.
From what I understand, that's kind of a gray area. Of course, I'm not just talking about the US. Some countries are more strict while others are more lax. Animation or not, maybe even stories (who the hell knows), it's likely to get you somewhere if it gets a lot of notice and they know that you did it.
Are you suggesting I could create a video of Tony the Tiger having sex with little children, and face no repercussions because that's not their "product"?
On the contrary. Depending on where you live, if you make a video of Tony the Tiger, or ANYTHING having sex with children, you'd probably face such repercussions as... I dunno, pedophilia charges?
Disclaimer: I actually have no idea what the hell i'm talking about. I just read that review recently and was amazed, so I'm trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about.
By any chance, have you stayed at a Holiday Express anytime lately?
Have you ever read Sigmund Freud's Civilization and its Discontents? If not, it's a great read and talks about some of this stuff; a kind of psychoanalysis of why we do this crap (I guess you could say, it's late).
I was going to post the same exact thing, but with a little more, but I changed my mind until I read your post. It really does seem like we're saying to the world, "Do as we say, not as we do."
The US is a nation that does not keep its dominance through diplomacy and exports, but instead by force. We have an awesome military, and if things keep up, that's all we'll have going for us (which is not that great of a thing by itself).
Reminds me of someone I know. He works a nice 100+K a year job and during his break sessions he'd play with eBay. After awhile people started to notice and would offer him things to sell in return for part of the money made. Well, after about 6 months or so, one of his clientele (a Jeweller) found out about what was going on and decided to get in on it. Things work out, and after awhile they start selling thousands of dollars worth of merchandise a week and split the profits 50/50 after covering cost of inventory; and like smart businessmen they invest their profits into the business instead of blowing it like they could.
Or eyewear. Titanium: Light, durable, and not too many people that I know of are allergic to it because it's low in allergens. In fact, I wear a pair of DKNY Titanium Frames with "Featherwates" lenses... 0.7 ounces, or roughly 19.84 (ooh spooky) grams!
I'm all for consumer rights, but... Sure it may be a great attention grabber for the media, but it poses as an even greater tool for people who are pro-DRM. Look at those "crazies", "liberals", "communists", etc. All I'm saying is, it makes for a great labeling scenario.
It's really a shame a lot of people have taken Nietzsche out of context. I've read a few of his books, but not all, but the general message is around the same. Personally, I think following him word for word would go against his message anyways; it's more of a to get you think kind of message.
I'm a first year engineering student. Oddly enough I'm switching to business, though I'm in the top of my engineering class. You say the school is small, but what about the classes? If the classes are small and you have time, I suggest starting off with small papers and slowly progressing to larger papers. Cover different kinds of writing, do a bit of grammar (it does help regardless of studies), and be willing to talk to your students for a bit after class. If you cover multiple areas of writing, you will see where people are struggling and where they're succeeding. Just take a human approach to it... No one is the same, so there is no definite way of teaching them.
I've had several solid yellow polos of the same shade, but no solid blues like that. I have worn the yellow polos into best buy before, but never have I been asked for help while wearing them. However, I've been asked for help while wearing shirt from places like Banana Republic and what not that are not solid color.
Oddly enough, it seems like older people and the yehaw types are the ones who ask me the most. Maybe it's just the idea a lot of people have that most people don't dress nice anymore, except while at work.
The manual that comes with those calculators is pretty clear. I'd imagine most people who buy one of those calculators either get the manual on CD, or they just toss it somewhere (maybe even in the trash). I'm always writing little BASIC programs for mine, just to save an ass-load of time. My lab partner gets pissy when we have to do individual work and I complete mine about 3-5 times faster, and that includes the time it takes to write the program.
But to support your statement that you doubt that most people with those calculators are interested in programming them, I'd have to say you're correct. Most people don't even know how to use the basic functions of it, let alone know they can run games on it. I've bored with my 83+ now ): I want a Reverse Polish Notation calculator from HP!
He does!

Amen to that. I've been listening to only public radio now for about 3 years. NPR, APM, etc.
I love listening to classical music, A Prairie Home Companion, and From the Top.

Most of the times I see Pledge, it's just furniture (usually wood) duster/polisher. Kind of like the Old English Furniture care stuff.
I'm curious, if they knew they were being sought after, what would change?
You don't remember John Titor? These future generations have done a lot for us! All "jokes" aside, I think you have a very selfish view.
It's a pretty easy read, too.
Ciao!

Dammit! Who do I contact to get my patcheck? I have a feeling I'm not the only one... Do I smell class-action lawsuit?!

Well there is a decent idea for a poll, perhaps someone should submit that as an idea!

I hope this does educate a lot of people, though.
But at least we have 37 types of cereal.
Are you counting the new Rice Krispies Berries?
Is it alright if I send you a sweater?

I'd like to give living in Switzerland a try.
