"Certainly the best space sim ever"

That's very arguable, please don't state it as fact without proper evidence.

Look at the action space sim competition. Starlancer? Wing Commander Prophecy? Tachyon: The Fringe?

Please. Freespace 1 outclasses those, let alone Freespace 2.

"Setups for Freespace 3, of course -- but the problem is, Volition themselves have said that there never be will be a Freespace 3."

Why do you first say that they are setups for Freespace 3 then say that that is impossible?

Because they put the setup for FS3 in place, then Volition were sold to THQ, and no longer have the rights to Freespace.

    "they'd love to make it"

And how do you know this?

    They've said so.

A minor point, but I don't think this is a 'id' release as such.

The actual game was made by Grey Matter Studios, (with another company handling the multiplay), I think id were just there in a 'creative control' role.

Obviously, Graeme thinks the people who read his .plan are idiots.

Picture me sitting here with my brand spanking new downloaded copy of RTCW. I run a keygen.

Oh no! That evil virus attack just sent my valid Wolf key to some insideous pirate! Except it didn't.

PIRATES USING KEYGENS DON'T HAVE VALID KEYS.

He used this same stupid assed scare tactic when Q3A came out. It was stupid then, and stupid now. But at least he added the evil terrifying file corrupting ability bit.

I'm tempted to just download the game and play through the singleplayer game for the heck of it.

Current user adaption (or more to the point, the fact the majority simply won't change) is what pretty much kills the chances of keyboard alternatives being accepted.

For twenty years I've greatly enjoyed ST:TMP. Now I find the only version I can see coming in the DVD format is.. the Directors Edition.

What if I don't want a directors revised version? Where do I get ST:TMP it its pure unaltered version on DVD?

Now I'm all for a film being enhanced or added to.. but NOT at the cost of its original vision, flawed or not.

I'm similary going to be force fed a bastardised version of Star Wars when George Lucas feels worthy to put them on the DVD format, most likely only in his 'special' editions.

I personally feel an altered movie should not be allowed unless its true original version is also made available.
