    I would guess that google is a lot harder to crack legaly then three guys in a basement. Make no mistake the mafiaa is really interested in preventing anyone from getting to torrent files. They would love to force google to clean up it's database of "illegal" material. They are however aware that google can pay lobbyist to.

    Despite that, They have not been accused of piracy, they have been accused of facilitating piracy by running a unmoderated database of torrent files. Using this thinking all seach engine are at risk of similar jugement.

    Please don't forget the blind that trained themselve to listen to car engin to determine if it's safe to cross. Also i like being able to ear incoming cars it help me to position my self when cycling.

    No netneutrality is a word describing current status quo. ensuring that this status quo is maintained and not destroyed by the teleco is a good thing. The worst thing that could happen to any internet venture is prioritisation of traffic based on source.

    Look like your facebook account ? We have to face the fact that personal information does not have the same value for all. And sometime it's scary how critical info is available for all to read at everybody indiference. Regardless. We hide personal information because the critical infrastructure that depend on it is not secure enought to resist am indentity theft. The fact that everybody know my bank account number should not matter since they should not be able to access it for example.

    Yast is a bit assinine. On SLES 11 if you edit your network config it tend to erase your primary gateway. Still it's nice to use when you don't now how to write a config file. It make for good example. Just remember that if you edited something by hand don't use yast on that config file. And always backup your config before making any change.

    Nope Can't i'm using radioactif one of the small dsl provider in quebec. Bell controls the crtc and by extention any small isp trying to use theyre phone lines for dsl. They force packet shaping and caps on everybody and harass the small isp to destroy competition. And the crtc does nothing.

    To be fair a lot of people would. It's just that in the real world the amount of complaint youd drive the cop after the scammer pretty quickely. On the web the police can't/won't run after the scammer.

    Because they want to integrate it with theyre security suite or theyre logging solution, because they have over 9000 machine using it. If they want to spend the budget they could buy fancy new chair instead of wasting programmer and consulting time coding a app. Don't forget that gouvernement is big and app deployement, monitoring and security is not free.

    Not always, There are some game where leveling up does not significantly add to your party fighting ability, collecting, buying and timing are the way to go then. It's a way to replace the level up grind by another kind of levelup but it as a tendency of making the game more complex and it does tend to push you to your friendly strategy guide. And then you have the all the monster level at the same time as you aka FF8, Oblivion so leveling is useless in this system as well.

    Most shop will just ignore this little twist and downgrade to xp anyway. No sane admin will run a mix of os on user workstations if he can prevent it.

    you mean blueray player avalable now can play dvd. It's not a feature that is absolute. dvd playback could be removed from future players to maximise blueray marketshare. Its improbable but it could happen.
