    You seem to have the opinion that OS X is not widely usable as a productive environment. What specific tasks have you found to be significantly more difficult on a Mac? I would bet that if the task is not very simple, then your difficulties stem entirely from a lack of experience and knowledge of the platform.
    I will go ahead and use the same logic as one "Security Expert" people were quoting for a little while (till he showed how much of an ass he really was).

    I've never touched a mac but I can clearly say that in my expert opinion the Mac is a horrible idea for anyone wanting to get any real work done (hey if it works for a "Security expert" who never touched it to claim something, why can't I?).

    Should your buyer be able to get away with taking advantage of the printer error?
    a better question would be, if you had a massive amount of people all being charged the $0001 and you never noticed it before giving the product out to said people should you charge the people who paid via credit or debit card without their knowledge?

    Who wouldn't be pissed? Would you be ok if you bought something that was advertised on sale, only to get your bill and see you were charged twice by the company? if the shipping order shows the balance who's fault is that? defiantly not mine, was it these people's fault no one at amazon thought it was odd? was it these people's fault no one at the shipping center thought it was odd? no of course not, why should they have to pay double when they did nothing wrong.

    would you be ok with it if you went to a store and after paying they noticed something wrong and told you you couldn't have your purchases until you paid for everything again? you did nothing wrong, the store is the one that screwed up and now they want you to pay double for it.

    Just remember the way you feel when your computer is suddenly over-run with spyware/adware/virus' cause Microsoft was actually thinking about your saftey.

    People bitch when it's so easy to get this stuff on a windows machine, Microsoft finally does something about it and people decide to bitch about that.

    I have yet to experience these supposed headaches with Vista yet, the only time that shield pops up is when I run a program that is potentially harmful to my computer, I can copy text just fine, move files just fine but when I goto run something in admin mode it will pop up a window to let me know that a program want's to have admin privileges, what's so wrong with that? I've heard people bitching about that for years, saying you should never run in admin mode, yet microsoft finally decides to do that and people bitch cause they are now asked if they trust a program from somewheres.

    How many story's were posted about programs looking like they came from an official place only to release a trojan? sure you get a program from download.com and figure it's safe but after installing a program it suddenly fucks up your PC, with Vista it will actually ask if you trust it let you know where it came from the works.

    Yet if Mac or Linux did the exact same thing people wouldn't be bitching about it, they would be saying Microsoft should of done this (or they stole it).

    Scott Finnie tests Vista for hundreds of hours, finds nothing wrong with it, so he complains that Microsoft now focuses on " Avoiding negative publicity (especially about security and software quality)". And it's somehow wrong. Booohoo, Microsoft releases a secure system! They are doing it only so that they can avoid negative publicity, let's slam them!
    you're forgetting the crucial point, No one* wants Windows to be secure, if it is how can you justify going to a Mac or Linux? that's the major selling points when it comes to them, so if Windows is suddenly more secure then that argument goes out the window.

    for me the nice thing about Vista is that it offers everything Microsoft would normally sell seperetly (not stuff they are forced to), I want to BUILD my media center PC but unfortunately Microsoft only sells the media center edition with pre-built PC's, with Vista home Premium I can get Media center with it**.

    I do agree though, it's almost as if people are desperately trying to find faults with Microsoft at this point, when they introduce a new feature to further windows people quickly point out they are ripping off someone else or it's already been done in another program (yet no one seemed to mind when Opera started using the Widgets from Apple (or vice Versa)), they make it more secure they complain they aren't focusing enough on something else, they make it easier for the work place and they complain they aren't focusing on the end user, it will never end no matter what they do.

    *no one refers to the ones that just see Microsoft or Windows and automatically dismiss it without even bothering to look at it or give it a chance.

    ** I've given up on buying pre-built systems now, sure they offer ease and convenience but they are usually missing something important and make it almost impossible to upgrade it the way you want to.

    The government trying to do that (even just for schoolkids) would be a huge step in the wrong direction as far as the first amendment goes.
    Well I've seen it said before, Kids don't have rights, atleast not untill they turn 18. So if the government stepped in and stopped it for schoolkids there isn't much they can do about it since they aren't a legal adult yet.

    Ratings aren't mandatory for games, it's voluntary. There are indy games that go unrated because the authors don't feel the need to submit them for rating since they aren't sold via normal channels. The prevalence of game ratings is because it is good for business, good for PR, and because the retailers like to sell rated games.
    the same is true for movies up untill the last part, just change retailers like to sell rated games to retailers like to sell unrated movies I've yet to see someone go up in arms over unrated movies in stores, yet there are constant reports about people getting up in arms over games that were rated accordingly and given to kids who didn't meet those ratings.

    Since the members of the MPAA own all the copy- and distribution rights to their respective works, not to mention that they're the sole source of licensing, they can do whatever they want with the files so long as it is sanctioned by the organization's standards and practices. They are the owners in the fullest sense and are above the fray of current IP controversy. They wouldn't bring suits against themselves, and let's say they did one day. It would be dismissed in a heartbeat, because you can't steal from yourself. The only place where something interesting might happen would be if a major studio expressly prohibited this sort of electronic sting, and the MPAA used one of their titles in such an action.
    well the RIAA actually did do this, one of their own employee's setup the tracker, got the IP's and everything, then was Sued & Fired by the RIAA themselves for copyright infringment, so if they wanted to they could sue the same people they hired for copyright infringment for distributing the copyrighted work, even if it's not real, everything above points that out, if you go to buy drugs and what you are sold isn't drugs you still get busted for it.

    I wondered about that to, you know as soon as they finish building ANYTHING some wako is just going to blow it up for no reason, I just read in the paper that in Bush's speach he want's to allocate 10 BILLION to help fix Iraq, now where is this money going to come from exactly? there's places here in this country (like you said the schools) that are running seriously low on funds yet the government can't seem to find the money to give them...yet they can somehow manage to find 10 billion to give to a country that has wako's that are just going to blow up everything done with that 10 billion.

    They are no more adult than R movies. That's what M is equivalent to in terms of movie ratings. The adults rating, or NC-17 equivalent, is AO. However because most retailer refuse to carry games with AO ratings, even in a separate section, few are made. Same deal with movies. That's why there's an "Unrated" American Pie. Basically what happened is in the original cut, the MPAA hung an NC-17 on it which most theatres won't carry. So they made the necessary changes to bring it down to R. When they released the original cut, they simply didn't submit it for rating, and thus sell it as "Unrated".
    That ALWAYS makes me laugh, I can't understand why it's ok for the movie industry to release a Movie as "Unrated" thus completly bypassing the rating system, yet if a Video game company even THINK'S about doing that they get fines so far up the ass they can't walk straight.

    I just can't understand why they allow that double standard bullshit to go on, you go to Walmart and see 10x more copies of an Unrated movie then you do for a rated one (I actually have to go out of my way to even find one with a rating) and no one bats an eye or raises hell over that, yet you get a game that is rated M and has less sex & sometimes less violence then an R or Unrated movie and people think it's satan himself come to earth to rape your children. I wish the companies websites would let you buy unrated versions of their games, if they started doing that I bet their sales for a game would skyrocket so much they would second guess selling them in stores & I know for one I would rather buy it directly from them as it was intended then go to a store and buy it all censored to hell.

    That one probably would fit in better, since they never forced him to eat their food, he knew it was cooked in grease, yet he didn't think he would get fat eating it.

    Unless I am missing something I don't think the Wiimote weighs as much as a bowling ball or a baseball and all the "mishaps" I have heard with it are from people treating the Wiimote as though it was actually one of those things.

    As I told my parents aboutt he funny insturction booklet released in Japan about the Wiimote, maybe Nintendo shouldn't of released it there, instead they should of released it here cause america is just way to fucking stupid anymore.

    How long before the first console game that requires patches just to get rid of all the v1.0 gameplay bugs?
    It's already come and gone. The Original Xbox had a few games that did that, the one that comes to mind right away is Wrestlemania XX (I think that was it) on the Xbox, you had to download a patch to fix the "bug" that wouldn't allow you onto Xbox live.

    Now I know for somethings bugs are unavoidable and get overlooked...but one that doesn't even let you play online when that is supposed to be the big feature of the game? how does that one slip by.

    oh I wasn't saying people won't buy the PS3, of course they will regardless of price (look at past systems, people buying them off eBay for over $1000 when less then a month later you could get one).

    What I was saying was the Sony Execs reall don't care about what the consumer thinks, they are so far gone that it would take a MASSIVE shift in EVERYTHING they do for them to even bother with noticing.

    for the Rootkit fiasco to of really hit home it would of had to fry a ton of the worlds computers for the masses to care. The PS3 would have to be a MASSIVE failure (which we know it won't be) for Sony to even bat an eye at it. everyone around the world would have to decide "you know what, I don't want to see any more movies by *insert every company Sony owns that makes movies*" for them to really decide "ok, we fucked up. Time to change"

    all of which we know won't ever happen because for the time being, Sony has it engrained in everyones mind that "We're not bad, it's not our fualt!"

    but if they start doing like EA and charging for what used to be done in simple cheat codes and not working on spin controll (like microsoft is currently doing) then there MIGHT (and i use that loosely) be some impact.

    it's name brand free, cause the stuff that I do happen to own that is name brand I almost never wear.

    I have a cheap flimsy shirt from old navy that was on sale for like $5 (normally $25) and it's lighter and thinner then any of the other shirts I own (which at most I paid $10-$15 for) and I have one pair of Levi pants that I only wear when my others are dirty.

    I have never gone to a store and said "I have GOT to get some *Insert over priced brand name stuff here*!", I go looking for something spacific, I look at price first cause that's what's important to me. When I was younger I went through shoes pretty quick, so I honestly couldn't go to my parents and say "I have to have these air jordans!" considering the brakes on my bike would go out almost every other week (The padding wore down) I would always forget and need to use my shoes to stop, so naturally this wore them down rather quickly.

    everytime I look at something name brand I just don't get the appeal of it, I knew air jordans were worthless yet they were advertised like you could play like jordan if you bought them! there was nothing special about them other then it had jordans logo on it.

    The only Sony things I have in my whole house is my PS2 (never realised it before) a broken PS1 a replacement PS1 & A DVD Burner I had to get after a bad Linux Live CD fried my other one, When I buy electronics (like TV's or DVD players) I look for features firt then go down the line till I reach the price I am after, just like with everything else.

    The PS3 I was all set to get a year/two years ago, then they announced the price of it and I realized I could get a pretty kick ass PC by the time I could get a PS3 (I knew right from the begining that Sony wouldn't be able to make enough PS3's for launch, just like the PS2). To be honest if someone (even a shady group) made a system that let you play the PS3 360 or Wii (even PS2, Xbox or Gamecube) games and it cost a good deal less then the 360 or PS3 from Microsoft and Sony I would buy it since it does the samething only costs less.

    I've been Nike free for my whole life, hell I've been name brand free my whole life.

    Why must I buy a pair of fucking shoes for $80+ when a pair that are $20 are just as good (if not BETTER)? same goes for pants, shirts, you name it, the only time I have ever bought clothing that is name brand is when it was on clearance or was cheaper then the non name brand (which rarely happens).

    I wonder how long it will be till sony decides to go after something like newegg, or any online retailer like that (since they have international shipping). it sucks that lik-sang didn't have the money (or the lawyers) to really fight this case cause they honestly could of won it.

    Of course Sony being a big company knew this, so they took the usuall Big Buisness cop out, Sue and keep it going till the company has no money left then "Drop" the lawsuit because of it.

    well look at the great smaller name titles released here, chances are very high it was originally released in japan first to begin with.

    take a game like Katamari Demacy for example. It was released in japan first and did pretty well there, well enough for namco to warrent translating it and releasing it in the US (which they had no plans to originally).

    their selection of games vary's greatly from what we get in the US, so it's kind of hard to find that quirky great small name title there since there's such a wide varity.

    there's probably something like 900 Majhong titles on the PS2 alone, then you got fast food games, dating games, horse breeding games, all kinds of stuff, the US we MIGHT get one or two small name games every now and then but not very often and with how much next gen is going to cost to make a game I doubt we will be seeing those small "What the hell, let's take a chance" games coming out on the PS3 or 360 very often.

    to bad there's been people who have gone out and bought stuff, took it home only to find it doesn't work!

    They just spent the money for it and it just doesn't want to work, everything is the way it is but it doesn't work. They look around and find out they aren't the only ones and it turnes out the only ones not having problems are the ones who didn't pay for it.
