    In China, he wouldn't have been caught during the act, or prosecuted afterwords. If he had been caught, he would have just split a portion of the profits with their government.

    If you've ever used a iPhone, you'd know that it does suspend the background GUI processes. Suspending doesn't entail getting rid of their memory allocation. The iPhone only does that when it's low on memory.

    Except for the fact that another party, in some places in Europe, can get a seat at the table with a small number of votes. In the US, you need a majority in a district, rather than a percentage in the country as a whole.

    Totally plausible. You head will be over the iron, and that will help conduct lightning because of the metal and possible power cord.

    If you fall asleep with the wind from a fan blowing on you, it can suffocate you and kill you.

    Fans tend to have dust bunnies covering the blades, and a dust bunny lodged in your throat doesn't help you breathe.

    If you take a shower/bath while you are still sweating, it will kill you

    Heat stroke from a hot or even warm shower after a jog out in Latin America, a place that trends towards being really hot to begin with.

    People can choose to use Google or any of many search providers. Those same people are locked into one of 2 ISPs maximum in their area.

    Choosing content based on a payoff is also different from choosing content based on merit.

    What the fuck? Google is a search provider, not an internet provider. If they think the site's speed provides a good indicator of its usefulness to the user, let them go for it. They're not favoring one over the other because of a payoff, but because of their actual performance.

    The new UK law that criminalises fictional cartoons is a particularly laughable piece of spin - the law talks about images of a "child", and only later does it define "child" is such a broad way as to include anyone appearing under 18, or even of adults where the predominant impression conveyed is of someone under 18.

    They're not banning "child porn cartoons". They're banning 90% of hentai.
