Isn't it a bit dangerous to give a kid his own personal access to the internet ? If he is teaching you about computers then what makes you think he can't get around your 'parental control' ? If he really wants to get to what he shouldn't then he can. The only means of effective control is to have the computer in a public place. I think you will be doing your kid an injustice to give him freedom to early. Well I have had bad experiences like he described in nontrivial classes ( Physics for engineers). A large percentage of or grade was based on homework, and the Prof would not accept homework a minuet late. This was a huge problem given the time of the class ( 9pm ) and the parking situation. So a big percentage of my homework were late and not graded.
Also I did every thing he assigned and often times more. I got A's on every test. In the end I ended up getting a 'D' in the class only because of home work.
When I told my TA what my grade was he was shocked. I ended up having to beg the professor to let me take a oral exam just so that I could have a C and not get kicked out of my program.
Some profs have malicious policies , Failing a student who clearly knows the material is malicious. The grade was to prove how well my physics skills were not time management ( or ability to find a good parking spot)
In contract to this, I had one prof (logic for CS ) that had a great grading system. He only factored in your homework grade if you needed it. This is probably the best way to really test if some one knows their stuff.

I come in in the middle of a project where some one wrote a bunch of poorly designed functions, that don't take arguments ( data is passed through global vars ) and they produce a extremely specific result that should be more general. for example fetchdata() a highly specific function with a generic name. I want to write a real fetchdata() that is generic and I can use in other parts of the code but the good name is already taken, and I don't have the patience ( or time ) to go through and fix it every where in the whole project. ( I guess I could do a global search and replace but.. )
So I make fetchdata2() ( or fetchdata_good() and use that from now on and when I can try to replace the old fetchdata()s to use the better version.
I recently took a contract somewhere as an 'engineer' where I was probably the only one who had an engineering degree. Also the work I was doing was far from engineering (web programing). Also I've been on interviews where the client sets me up to talk with their "engineer" who probably doesn't even have a college degree. The problem I've run into is that many times the ones doing the hiring have no idea what they are talking about. To them the engineer is the guy who can use the terminal, or can write HTML by hand.
Another problem ( I think I'm on a rant here ) is that some people say they want an engineer when what they want is a designer, they want someone to make their site look pretty, and they really don't care about functionality. They just figure "Its too technical for me so I must need an engineer."

What would any other country do if it was being attacked? While it is sad that there are casualties, as with any war, the difference is the targeting. One group is targeting civilians riding on a bus, or sitting in their homes. The other group is acting on those who participate in or support the first attacks.
Oh and by the way, the PA is supposed to provide all of those things for its citizens, they want their own state, their official position is that they want nothing to do with israeli education.

Also if you think that the arabs have it so bad, maybe you should take a drive around and see all of the mantions they have in The state of Isael. The arabs opress them selves, they are the ones who send their children to die. They are the ones who do not rescue their brothers from "opression." Why don't the arab contries follow Israel's lead and when their brothers are being "opressed" send planes to save them, and accept them with open arms.
Again, take my advice, go and witness this "Racisim" for your self. I think you will be surprized. Arabs can walk around fine in J'lem without fear of being attacked. Can you say the same for a jew that makes a wrong turn in Ramallah ?
Your solution I'm afraid is not what the arabs want. The want to remove the jews, that is their offical position.
Also why should Israel condem Zionism ? To condem zionism is to deny Israel's right to exsist. Are you saying that jews don't have a right to live in their own country ? Take a look at history and see how warmly they were treated by the other nations. Even today it is apparent ( from your posts ) that anti-semitisim is still as strong as ever. For some one to belive such illogical things there must be a base of hatred. Hate manipulates logic acording to his will.

So you like to post off topic every where. You constantly call Israel racist, but how are you not a racist when every thing that has to do with Israel you attack. Do you see the israeli's posting off topic any time there is a mention of Grmanay? Remember the whole holocoust thing ? or are you one of those who say it didn't happen? All these articles are about technology none are about politics. Why do you have to drag in your anti-semetic feelings? If you really want to voice your opionion, go hop on ElAl and go protest infront of the Israeli Parlament building. And while your at it be sure to take a trip to the all the other neighboring countries as well, and just for fun speak out about their govenments. Here is a fun thing travel around the middle east and make a T-shirt for each country you visit that says "I hate NAME OF CURRENT COUNTRY'S LEADER ."
