but very step dose not need to be touted as a major breakthrough as been the norm as of late.
Exactly. I think finding a planet (relatively) close to earth size in another system is nice...but with the fanfare every tidbit seems to get, nothing seems major anymore. Seems really prevalent in medical science, where study after study that 'may' 'hint' 'possible connection' gets a banner.
I used to pursue every newsflash with hopes of learning we made some breakthrough, but i'm so underwhelmed it doesn't seem to matter anymore.
However, didn't someone say that it really wasn't the scientists/researchers so much as the media trying to scoup others and running with halfunderstood stories?
Amusingly, while reading some Muslim saying Christians wouldn't stand for such depictions of Jesus...
..Jesus was doing the boxing match episode on South Park.
Then again, what logic would one expect from the same people (re: Extremists faction) whose response to being depicted as a violent religon is to bomb, beat and burn in retaliation for this 'misportrayal'?
Myeh, to the poster earlier who said that a moderate going 'not again' is dismay making poor Page 1 material: personally I'd find it a refreshing change from the inundation of 'every Muslim wants you dead' we currently get. I think i'll go bug a few muslim friends and get some reassurence they don't hate me:P
And that's the point...if you know them, then gay, straight, doesn't matter.
If you don't know them, why are you letting your kids go off with them in the first place?
Resisting comments on notable priest/coach/etc instances for the sake of a cheap response, my point was that it is the same issue between them. Not that it's paedophile heaven, predators in every bush, but that if you have an issue with one you'd best have an issue with the other. It isn't 'gay persecution' if the person is also against opposite gender chaparones.
Personally I'm more afraid of inattentive negligence then sexual assault occuring. Like I had said: "Now if you want to get up in arms about him labeling adults as all child predators, that's another story.".
The comment about 'compromising situation' refers to parents deciding to make a lawsuit when lil Abby claims 'he touched me improperly' as retribution for something, etc.
Anyhow, I don't lock my car because I consider everyone a thief. I lock my car becuase of the one who is (and is too scared to smash the window:P ). And no, that just means i'd rather two adults look after them then just one (better in case of accidents/emergency as well).
I'd have just as much issue sending little girls into the woods with a man, as I would sending little boys with a gay man. Personally more so since I'd presume the gay man to feel more scrutiny by society on him.
This has nothing to do with sexual orientation beyond there being possible sexual (attr)action.
Hint: Sending a gay man into the woods with a troop of little girls doesn't sound the same alarms for some. Why? No possible attraction or compromising threats. Mmmhm, compromising threats. Some parent could just as likely claim a problem and cause an uproar, as there to being an actual case that causes the uproar.
Gays want equal rights and treatment? That's fine, and that's what this is. It isn't hetero versus homo, it's paedophilia-paranoia.
Now if you want to get up in arms about him labeling adults as all child predators, that's another story.
The thing was the magazines always released classes you'd want to play, but were NPC classes- they quickly broke down game balance if you used them in a campaign (e.g. Archer Ranger was a riot to play, but became little godlings too quickly). It wasn't an official class mind you.
As for the 3.0 not being the anti-paladin...his skills are all pretty much the reverse or a paladins, and they have the opposite ethos. Smiting good, commanding undead, aura of despair in lieu of a paladin's smite evil, turn undead, aura of courage...
Regarding paladins of alternate alignments, that is also an old idea. There was a dragon article long ago about a 'paladin for every alignment'. We never used it tho so I can't speak for it's game balance.
Implant DRM filters in the inner ear of every child at birth. If sound is detected the user does not own the rights too, the filter will block the audio from reaching the brain, preventing the user from enjoying the fruits of his/her piracy.
Any medical doctor caught removing or offering to remove said filters will have their medical license revoked and face a huge fine and/or imprisonment.
Should also develope a video DRM filter for implant along the optical nerve. Will solve all the piracy problems.
Hey, it may sound overboard, but if the creative geniuses hadn't slaved over making it, or without the hard working efforts of the ??IAA to deliver it to you, you couldn't enjoy it in the first place. This isn't an invasion of privacy, merely a step to protect the rights and to reward the efforts of those who own that creative work. Don't blame them for protecting themselves, blame humanity for its greed. You brought this on yourselves!!

D&D had a 'homebrew' class called the anti-paladin, the evil version of a paladin (or one fallen from grace). It occassioned the magazines and such.
In the 3rd edition of D&D they made it official, but it is now called a 'blackguard', a prestige class (one you can only take after reaching so many levels in a normal class first).
To point: it would be a comment aimed at pencil&paper gamers
I've met several girls on MMORPG (met as in IRL, not chatting in game) who played male characters for one of several reasons:
1- if they have to stare at a sprite, staring at a guy's ass beat staring at a girls ass
2- avoid guys hitting on them (and for even more fun, hit on guys who harass girls
3- disgust at the jiggly factor
4- inherited the account from a boyfriend/friend/whatever
Crossplaying girls exist, just are even more rare then the 'real female' gamer.
How did that sig go? "The internet, where men are men, the women are also men, and the children are undercover Feds" ? I'd have to say in general your view of "male until proven female" is a rather sound one.
Some comedy group has a skit with a few guys sitting around (playing cards I think) and they break into an arguement over what they think the lyrics are. No clue who it was, but I thought it was rather funny. (Might have been at 'Just for Laughs' festival)
Excuse my ignorance here, but bridge and poker both date hundreds of years back: poker to at least the early 1800s, and bridge back to 16th century..although bridge was modernized just into the 20th century...and both are just rules based on cards which go back to the 14th century.......how has copyrights protected them?
If book is boring GOTO last chapter.
Say I have no appreciation for the 'finer classics of literature', but that's how I managed to read 'Tale of Two Cities' If paragraph is still describing door two sentances in, GOTO next paragraph. =P
Maybe that has more to do with the 'hot' part of the hot tub?
Power to heat the water and keep it operating could be the surprise they were having-Canada is blessed with a relatively high amount of cheap power, where as they might not be so lucky.
Alter that second one a little.. since downloading and executing files randomly sent to you is more akin to inviting strangers into your house and letting them do whatever.
It's a normal part of society having locks on your door and such, to control who goes into your home. So yes, when some man comes to my house and tells me he would like come in and change things, i will make sure he is really from the phone company and not some stranger who just wants to screw around with the wiring.
Complete trust and complete paranoia are both equally bad ways to be. The problem is a lot of internet users seem to lose their sensabilities towards precautions.
To counter your last statement: didn't your mommy streetproof you as a kid?
Of course by the same token, a lot of us who 'hate the united states' are refering to the government, and actually have quite a few american friends....and of course there is the oddball in the government who is doing a great job, so hating the government isn't actually hating the entire goverment...
Or we can just assume China!='The Chinese', and run with it:P
