According to http://act.demandprogress.org/sign/dhscomplaint/ the subject is actually accused of EMBEDDING, not linking. That is, he is alleged to have embedded copyrighted video streams (and/or their surrounding pages) inside his own site with surrounding ad content, instead of linking the user to the actual hosting web site. The major mistake by ICE appears to be a failure to actually use the word "embed" in their complaint. I would expect a takedown or lawsuit if I did this, so it's difficult for me to be surprised. Of course, that's no reason not to retrieve the links from the Internet Wayback Machine and (properly) link them from all of our home pages.
Kind of like how Google Images embeds my copyright images without my consent?
"Thomas Givnish, a plant ecologist at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, adds that the hypothesis could be strengthened by "exposing these plants to... emus or ostriches to demonstrate that these traits deter browsing by birds"
When I was studying evolution at Canterbury University in 2000 one such scientist from the US was about to conduct this experiment with emus I believe. I finished uni the following year and never did find out the results of the experiemnet, anyone know?
It really does effect people differently. Me, I lose my appetite, get hyperactive and I seem to concentrate better. I particularly like and believe I am better playing table tennis and pinball stoned.
The sooner a steak is grown in a petri dish the better. No more farms = less deforestation, less farm runoff polluting rivers, less greenhouse gases etc
"Conservative by the time you're 35"
"If you're not a liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain." There is no record of anyone hearing Churchill say this. Paul Addison of Edinburgh University makes this comment: "Surely Churchill can't have used the words attributed to him. He'd been a Conservative at 15 and a Liberal at 35! And would he have talked so disrespectfully of Clemmie, who is generally thought to have been a lifelong Liberal?"

About to make the switch to Microsoft Live Maps, I find Google maps to slow to load, if they load at all. Of course there isn't anything stopping you trying both and choosing the best that suits your needs.
Links are one of the things but when you have dozons of authoritative sites competing for number one the title is very important. It's not all about the page rank. Look at the sites above local.live, they almost hall have maps in their title.
David Mitchell rant about "could care less" explains it better than I could https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Correct, in fact the first ever UK twitter libel case just concluded a few days ago. Chris Cairns (New Zealand) vs Lalit Modi (India) http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/story/558806.html

If someone wanted to murder and rob me I would rather a policeman standing where the camera is rather than the camera recording me getting murdered.
Are Google forgetting how they managed to take number one from AltaVista? Fast, clean and accurate results trumps all.

When was the last time there was a major government sponsored ad campain on TV/radio/print warning people about scammers/spammers and the like?
Page rank is broke and to be honest it always has been. "These terms only appear in links pointing to this page".

The worse thing they did was put the little green pagerank on the toolbar. They should also get rid of the link operator link:http.....

No its because they don't have "maps" in their page title among other things, how does "Live Local Search" as a title relate to maps?
