"If you have some of the same problems dealing with things as Ellen"
Nothing personal against Ellen but I don't know if ANYONE deals with the same problems Ellen has!
AGAIN I submitted this article yesterday afternoon. It may have been old news in certain parts of the world but Reuters just picked it up yesterday. C'mon, my writing is not THAT bad!
Ground yourself in fundamentals rather than just one technology or language. Language wars are silly because a good engineer can learn a language easily.
Try telling that to the recruiter or company that wants to hire you!
Dang. I didn't put my deposit in until October, and I'm estimating I'll see an XBox 360 in (roughly) April. Still, that's pretty disappointing performance. Reservation: October 2. Current position in list: roughly 1/3 down page 2. Current delivered orders: roughly 1/8 down page 1.
Is that what they are telling you now? I heard someone say at EB that if they ordered now, they'd get a ton in Late Jan, Early Feb.
True, JSP can be just as sloppy as PHP if not coded properly. Although JSP is falling by the waist-side for JSF. Another thing we just did hear. Not ready for primetime just yet.
Oh, I'm no dummy. I know what's out there. But if I get paid well and have flex hours, then I can take some of the crap. Plus it gives me free time to do some other ventures.;-)
No, you're right. I've looked through RoR on my own time and its a pretty nifty tool. Amazingly fast too. Funny, I use Java here but if I want to put up a website at home, I'm all over PHP, mySQL. Too quick and easy. I don't have time to write classes, compile jars, etc. I just want the damn thing up and running!!
Same thing happened to me. I put a deposit down back in may with EB when it was $20. I STILL missed the first cutoff by like 2 or 3. I finally got it last week and I am glad I did. My guess is the second shipment was better. My brother-in-law got his during first release and he had to send it back before I even got mine!!
To stay FAR FAR AWAY from Ruby on Rails here. In fact, they sent us java developers to the Java conference and we were forbidden to go into any of those seminars. Why? Probably because they don't want us picking up any bad habits.
I don't know why they didn't do what every other film producer does, release it on DVD with features they left out of the theatre and then the DVD gets a "Unrated" label. That would have been the best way around all this junk and would have gotten it into the sticklers like WalMart and some of the other conservative chains.
Funny you should say that. Our company migrated off of Lotus Notes last year and that was the only feature I really liked about Notes. It makes it SO much easier to organize.
Excellent points here. I agree with yours. If I had put a deposit down, or worse yet (like I did) paid for the whole thing up front so that I could insure and Xbox (and not even get it until 2 weeks after release date) and then brought it home and realized it was faulty, I'd probably have to wait another 2 weeks or 2 MONTHS even to get a new one the way supply is right now.
The remains of the roast are then ground to powder, mixed with yeast and sucrose, and fermented for 4 hours at just below 22C. At this temperature the yeast can still metabolise but does not generate alcohol.
All these frost brewed beers like Icehouse.. We've all been FOOLED!!
Actually this is much more accurate than what they do here in Florida. They use the ePass things to track traffic but not everyone has them. I would thing that more people own cell phones than ePasses, though it could be the same ignorant people who don't want to get an ePass that don't want to get a cell phone for safety reasons.
I agree with you whole-heartedly. Part of me wants to think that DirecTV was strapped by the versions of Tivo that were released and if they did not agree with them they had no choice other than to just not implement them. I don't know what Tivo has patented either but I am hoping DirecTV will have a lot more flexibility now. I mean, why not be able to download the shows and take them with you? They need to activate those "future use" USB ports already!

USA only gets control over USA, and you always have a choice where to live.
That statement could open up a can of worms. But sticking on topic, take the internet for example.

Yes, I am sure thats part of the reason!

Wow, that had to be one of the quickest dupes every!!! CONGRATULATIONS!

These people must be getting confused with DHTML, that can get a little more complex.

Now if they only pass .xxx we can have xxx.x.xxx.. talk about PORN!!!
Funny, I thought it said AJAX.. then again I've been told I am dyslexic at times!
Thanks guys, I submitted this same article yesterday and it was rejected!
I agree with you, whats the point, but you forget about the "iPod Phones" that are showing up on Cingular services.
I was wondering what was going to happen to MusicChoice, since DirecTV just dropped them in favor of XM Music channels as of yesterday.
It doesn't matter. The service is still not worth the $15 a month. Tivo is great, on my DirecTV!
