Hopefully by then, the Linux XBox Project will be complete. It just got a big boost. Then you can buy 1,000 computers for just $200 each (the cost of an XBox). Microsoft sells them at a $150 loss so who could pass that up. They're small, too.
With what the Internet did for information sharing, Grid computing will do for resource sharing. Grid application developers will be in high demand to tap into this new area which has the potential to change the way we use the Internet. Just ask IBM, Microsoft, and Sun.
They shouldn't be taxing computer buyers but manufacturers of computer components based on how environmentally unfriendly the component they make is. Of course this cost will trickle down to the consumer some way or another but it's better than taxing the consumer directly. I don't like to pay more taxes any more than the next guy, but hey, it's better than having lead (or whatever harmful chemicals a PC contains) in your water.
What harmful components do PCs have that harm the environment?
when you can use Yahoo!Finance and it's expense manager. granted, i'm not sure i like the fact of a "company" having access to my expenses. but it is the most convenient thing in the world. =)
