Macs are UNIX workstations with a good GUI and they don't break every time you do an OS update (like the one Ubuntu box we keep just for testing did just this morning).
Having worked some years at a Mac Repair shop, I can tell you that OS X is the most unstable POS operating system I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Kernel panics for the smallest problems, system hangs for no apparant reasons, configurations breaking without an update, sometimes OS X just randomly stops working while you're sitting there doing your thing. I'd rather be running Windows ME than this horrible UNIX-turd.
Lucky you. On my box, regardless of distro, kernel, and catalyst drivers, VLC always segfaults when trying to play accelerated video. It works fine with nvidia, so I have to conclude that the drivers for the AMD card are worthless.
However, the open source drivers give generally poorer performance because there are some bits and pieces AMD/ATi won't tell you, because it's "not their technology".
You don't know me, because I am not friends with cowards, thieves or scum like you or Steve Jobs. On that account Bill Gates and Microsoft should also be behind bars, alas, the US is applauding criminals instead of punishing them. Unless you're black, then you get harsh punishments for stealing a candy bar.
I didn't update my account for some time and it got deleted or I changed my email, I can't remember. I've used Slackware for a number of years before. Nice try though. Fucktard. If you hadn't used the same bullshit Apple spews when they talk about their shit, I might get interested, but that pile of pure bullshit you wrote up is just stupid.
I've also never claimed to be "leet" so why don't you stick your fucking strawman arguments up your whiny bitch ass?
All it did was preinstall the software -- which is specifically allowed by 17 U.S.C 117 -- and resell the original copy.
Please don't make uninformed comments, they modified OS X to run on regular boxes then sold it. How can this be legal? It's like taking RHELs source code, changing it around, and selling it as RHEL. IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM IS THIS LEGAL.
So Phystar acted on the theory that if they bought the software they should be able to use it how they want and not just how Apple wants them to. It's a reasonable assumption and it may have worked in another country, but not in the United States.
This case is not about usage, but redistributing modified copies.
Are all GPL-fans as retarded as you, or are you one of their special cases?
But it's owning the copy that matters! That in itself means you don't need a license for anything other than copying.
You cannot entirely _own_ GPL'ed software unless it's you who wrote it. You are free to use it and redistribute it under the terms of the license, but it's not _your_ code.
Owning the software's copyright (what you mean when you say "owning the software") is just that: owning the right to create copies, and nothing else.
If I own the copyright to my source code/software I can also change the license. Not retroactively, but future releases. If Linus had demanded that every contribution to the kernel be his(Like the FSF demands), he could release Linux under the BSD license tomorrow.
On top of that, there is no law saying that folks can't replace any libraries on their computer that they want.
And that's not what this lawsuit is about at all either. This is about someone making modifications to Apples copyrighted software and selling it. It has nothing to do with GRUB or LILO, it's nonsense to even drag them into this. The point is: Apple is selling some software available under certain conditions, if you modify their software in violations of their conditions you are breaking copyright law. This is why you cannot re-license GPL code under the BSD license unless you are in fact the copyright holder. This is inherently a good thing.
I owned a N900, and Meego was utter shit. It was fast, yes. But the way it installed applications was slow and cumbersome, configuration of mail was a pain, and would sometimes just stop working for no good reason. MMS wasn't supported, and the 3d party applications that existed didn't work. The user interface was badly thought out and was slow during simple uses. Typing on the keyboard was painfully slow and not that accurate for someone with large fingers. The N97 keyboard is far superior than the N900(This wasn't meegos fault of course, but it was the only phone available here with meego on it.). All in all, it was a poor experience, and using an iOS or Android device is a lot more enjoyable and fun.
It wasn't a superior OS, it was crap. And it's the perfect example why desktop Linux sucks so horribad, they can't design user interfaces.
Unless you're on a laptop with an optimus chipset, in that case you're up shit creek with no paddles and a leaking boat.

It is included on GNOME and KDE by default. Unity does it as well.

WTF? Did you just "TL;DR" some of the best fantasy writing ever written?
No, he didn't. He did do it to some mediocre fantasy shitfest though.

Ha Ha you're dead
The joke is over
You were an asshole
And now you're gone
As your ship is going down
I'll stand by and watch you drown

Fedora blows
Fixed it for you.
How is Fedora these days?
Running GNOME 3, which is worse/shit. Alternatively you can use a poorly optimized KDE version on which will lag for no apparent reason.
Disclaimer: I do work for Microsoft
Yeah, we can tell.
Fedoras KDE performance is pitiful though.
Opera did not invent tabs. Fucking fanboy.
Mod parent funny.

The fuck are you doing running Fedora in a enterprise environment?
