The Ipod? That's been around for years and the people who want one already have them and have stopped listening to radio years ago.
Podcasts? One of the only mediums that has a lower signal to noise ratio than radio.
Sirius/XM? Meh, I know one person that subscribes to them, I don't think they're growing very fast anymore, if they ever did.
Streaming radio? Legislated into oblivion last year or the year before.
TV? Been there, done that.
Radio is sticking around, it may be becoming less relevant to your ears but I doubt you've listened in years anyway. Radio is free, and the ultimate road companion. Plus it won't be going away simply because of weather related announcements.
I'll be writing in Ron Paul. I never really considered Bob Barr after reading his positions, he is definitely not a libertarian and barely a Libertarian, so he won't be getting my vote.
Well, I wouldn't have bought a SFC (Jr. actually) if I had known you could home modify the SNES, but I was in Akihabara and I was holding the Japanese version of my favorite game of all time (Chrono Trigger) and had to guarantee I would be able to play it.
You could probably play most Japanese games depending on your knowledge of kanji or your ability to use a kanji dictionary.
What? I have never, ever considered that true. What are the best quality games on Nintendo systems? Typically Nintendo only games. What have been the highest quality games on the 360? Again, exclusives (even though most got a PC release 6 to 12 months later).
I can think of very few games that were of really high quality and were released on multiple systems simultaneously. Beyond Good and Evil, Timesplitters 2, umm... that's honestly all I can think of without venturing into the sports world.
Put up some examples before you start calling people delusional.
I think it's less about total size and more about the amount of storage per platter. This drive has four platters at 375GB a piece, a 1TB hard drive review posted here on Slashdot over a year ago has five platters at 200GB a piece.
I second the Wheel of Time, I'm sure they're pretty intimidating though for the average pre-teen, they span like two feet of my bookshelf. Maybe get the audio book for the first one, the readers are really, really good if you ask me. If they like it, give them the second one and definitely the third. After that, just let them know they're about to start heading down a path (of daggers) where they will come to many crossroads (of twilight) and want to quit.
If you're looking for a little lighter fantasy I would highly recommend the Book of Swords and the Book of Lost Swords by the also late Fred Saberhagen.
Heh, I just finished reading Clash of Kings today and am halfway through Neuromancer. I totally agree with you though, there's some pretty intense stuff in the two Martin books I've read so far.
Honestly I found Foundation and Foundation and Empire rather dry. I've also been thinking about continuing with the series because I enjoy the concepts, serious questions: are they all written in the manner of the originals? Is there anymore Hari Seldon stuff?
I read the series knowing that some people saw Christian themes and I guess I could see them when looking hard enough, but like you, I'm not sure if they would stand out to me otherwise. Except for the last book though, I think the last few chapters in that were kind of heavy in Lewis' Christianity.
You go on and on about moral depravity but you're glad capital punishment is still available for use?
"Follow my will or I'll kill you" is not something I would expect from civilized people under the rule of law.
"Follow society's will or we'll kill you" doesn't sound like something I'd expect from from civilized people either.

I've always found repetition to be a great way to learn and study. Repeating things over and over again often burns it into my mind. If Head First wants to use repetition then more power to them, as I've always found repetition to be a great way to learn and study.
I think the problem may be that you use your name as your internet handle? If Curt Monash is your real name, it's pretty easy to see your web presence and scrapers will have no problem putting your first and last name together, it doesn't even have to be randomly generated in your case.
I'm sure this actually may be an issue in the future, but how can you stop them from putting X together with Y and generating web pages? We have to leave it up to the likes of Google to purge these sites from their results.
Registration takes all of three minutes a year. I'll gladly take that than have my internet connection slowed down because my anti-virus program is DDOSing websites.
Can you explain the use of negative feedback against buyers? What situations would you give negative feedback? It seems that if they didn't pay that would be an issue you would take to Ebay, not something you'd complain about on their feedback page. Serious question.
Interesting points though, I'll have to check out iOffer.
Dude, this is Slashdot, not Earnhardt country. And NASCAR does suck. There are much better racing variants available even in the US.
Just because we call them bubblers, hunt deer, and only have two long seasons doesn't mean you can call us Sand People.
Cheese People? That's just fine though. Mmmm...
What's replacing radio?

Well, since the 360 is region locked and the PS3 isn't, you'd still need a Japanese 360 or a PS3 to play it anyway in Japanese.
Fun fact: I own a Super Famicon for my Japanese copies of Chrono Trigger and Mother 2 (Earthbound).
Honestly if you want to play good Castlevania games get a freaking DS. The Metroidvania side-scrollers are the standouts in the series.

Too bad it would take first degree murder charges against it to actually find anything.
Check out that moose.

My father in law drives a Mercedes truck for Fedex. In Wisconsin.

AFAIK, Gopher should still work in Firefox 3 but the functionality will be removed in Firefox 4 which is based off the developing Mozilla 2 platform.
