I ditched my TV about 6 months ago. The majority of shows I want are available on the 'net, one way or another. I'm not dictated to by licences, adverts or broadcast schedules.
... the other day. For those of you that don't want to click through, it's about finding the right mix of alcohol, sleep and energy levels, all in search of hitting that sweet spot.
I think they've missed their mark.
Chances are that some people will tune in to see it, but I reckon more people will just catch the clips on YouTube etc, or torrent the episode and watch it in their own time.
Of course, I have nothing to back this theory up.
This has been covered a couple of times over at the GamerCastNetowrk.
I think that MicroSoft are actually doing the clever thing. If you want to go all out and get the new model, the HD-DVD drive, the wireless adapter in one go, you can, and it will cost you more. Likewise, if you already own a 360, be it core or premium, then you can also upgrade that. The fact is, nobody is forcing you to have these extras. The other benefit is that it you're on a budget, then you can buy these in chunks. I can afford £245 (although no doubt we here in the UK will get stiffed on that again), I can't afford £425. In a month or two's time I'll be able to afford the HD DVD drive.
I would still rather see one model of each, like Nintendo has done with Wii.
He's not been put away yet. And while we're at it, let's not hope for dismemberment, lets hope, that he gets to share a cell with somebody that was put away for a crime that was somehow linked (although incorrectly) to video game violence.
Surely there is a trade off, as the amount of funding a game receives must be finite, surely.
Thus, if the graphics team get 70% of the budget, that doesn't leave a lot for the game play team, especially when you take in to account advertising and marketing.
There may well be twice as many game play/story line programmers than graphics programmers, but given how much the industry seems to salivate over graphics, I wouldn't be surprised if the graphics programmers get paid twice as much their "creative" counterparts.
"The final goal is a real and complete methodology for hacker profiling, released under GNU/FDL. This means that"... anybody who seriously wants to crack into somewhere will look up the profile of somebody on the other side of the world and follow the text book examples. Nice.
When are you going to implement languages? I've got a Night Elf hunter that thinks he's a Dwarf. The ability to learn to speak dwarven would be a distinct advantage in his otherwise all Dwarven guild.

So what you're saying is that gamers should revolt? I'm game
