Yeah, it seems like it. But how is it really any better than never buying the music in the first place? If you don't buy the CD, they get no money. If you download all the songs, they get no money.
If you steal an item from a store, the store is losing an item that could be sold to someone else. When you download a song, you're not taking away anything that could be sold to someone else.
Maybe if these corporations worried more about ironing out bugs instead of creating the fastest processor on the market, then we'd have more reliable computers.
If the service is free, I'll save up the money to get one of these boxes. As for the ads, they'll probably be shown on the digital menus, so that you see an ad everytime you change the channel (rather than forcing us to watch commercials or changing the default commercials). I can deal with that if the service is free. If there's a charge for the service, then there's no way I'll be getting this thing. You don't pay a service charge to tape things onto VHS.
I hate to think about this, but it's probably true. I might be in my 30s by the time we make it back to the moon. By the time we get to Mars... I don't even want to think of how old I will be then!
We landed on the moon in just a few years in the 1960s... now it takes 20 years with all this advanced technology we have. Kinda sad.
As awesome as it sounds, it just can't be real. I'll believe it when/if it actually happens. I don't see it really happening for another 50 years or so.
Let me see... If I bought WoW and played it for a year, I would have spent 230 dollars on it. That's way too much! I'd rather buy other games instead. A game that charges $15 a month is not a game I want to play.
No one should be allowed to patent such a generic thing. That's sort of like trying to patent the order of the icons in your frickin' start menu! And if Creative is going to sue Apple, what about all the other companies that make MP3 players? Will they sue them too? I'm sure they will! Sometimes I just think corporations act like a bunch of little kids. Except, instead of running to the teacher, they run to judges and lawyers.
I got -1 score for this...? Overrated... Wtf...? Seriously, people can't afford to spend $12,000 on something like this. I don't see how that's overrated. But anyway... it should be $1000 at most. Then people could MAYBE afford it. At least some people.
It's a sad thought, but I wonder if any of these 754 people are from Mississippi or Florida, where Katrina hit.
Imagine... you've finally recovered from Katrina's aftermath, but you find out the RIAA sued you just a few days after the hurricane hit! =(
I feel the same. It's sad. I wish they'd develop some amazing new propulsion system so that a probe could get to Pluto in about... say, 4 years or so. Less than that would be even better, of course. It just takes too long as it is right now.
"Priced at $12,000"
Woah, that is bullshit. They're only charging so much because they know they can get away with it. They could probably easily sell the thing for $100 or $200 and still make a profit. At such a price as $12,000, only businesses will be able to afford it!
Uh.... I just looked up tape drives. They're pretty damn expensive. I thought they would be kinda cheap since they've been around for so long.

Some of the greatest discoveries and inventions are accidental.
That's the truth!

I'd say it's a big problem in the USA too. =/
I know it's probably fake, but wouldn't it be nice? Though... why patent it if you aren't actually going to (at least try to) make it?

If I told you, I'd have to kill you.
It wouldn't make any sense to force people to listen to ads before or during every phone call. The advertising is probably done in other ways.

This is messed up! There should be more restrictions on what people are allowed to patent. Though... I guess that would cause different problems.
