Do Rob and Jeff ever regret the decision to sell Slashdot?
Yes and no. It's difficult for the reader to grasp exactly how big and complex an operation running Slashdot has become. While we do sometimes experience a little nostalgia for the old days, Slashdot at its present readership level simply couldn't exist without the infrastructure that OSTG provides. Also, the fact that OSTG has taken over things like network operations and advertising sales means that we can work on the things that we enjoy, like posting stories and code development.

"The late Olmec had already begun to use a true zero (a shell glyph) several centuries before Ptolemy (possibly by the fourth century BC). This would later become an integral part of Maya numerals."
The single most secure/robust/reliable messaging/calendaring/collaboration platform ever, in use by 40,000 + employees at my workplace, for close to 10 years. Thank you man who invented Lotus Notes, thank you indeed, for saving me *thousands* of virus calls should we have used exchange/outlook.

IMHO we should build a Linux "portal" where all Linux users can go for support. Independent of the dist of choice, where everyone can come to ask questions...developers, coders et al would most definitely sign up, and read/provide insight../? distrowatch? Let's get our own passports!
