    Well in thst case cat a ups, for all other cases eher power outage isnot an issue norhing bears fiber. Show me one copper based technologuthat gives you 200+ Mbps 20Km from the head end without any repeaters etc?

    Yes because a cron job to reenew letsencrypt every (vas it 60 or 90) days an reload your http deamon rakes so much time. Ok Iâ(TM)ll admit youâ(TM)ll probably use a bit more electricity, but comated to the other things usualy running on a web server tls is not your biggest problem.

    Well reddit is a big place, I'll afree with you that the front page, and a lott of subreddits are rather mediocre, but 99% bad might be a bit pesimistic. I would sa 85-90% bad. Then again negative news/opinion travles further and faster then the posetive variaty, so it is not surprising.a few examples of mildly helpfull, or at least infarmative sub reddits : /r/postgresql /r/ipv6 /r/blackmagicdesign.

    You said "your" modem as in the modem you own, in that case I'm sorry but it's your job to make shoreyou keep it updated (and eventualy replace it( to be able to keep up witch the service you pay for. If you lease it from the isp call them and sey that you want a new one, and point to the facte that the one they nov lese you can't actually make use of the service they get payed for. Of coures it is possible that thay ar scumbags and use the upto 300Mbps excuse, there network might just be to congested.

    Naybe because both domsins, and hosting ate rediculesly cheap, why have somecomany.com/~username when you can have yourname, (com,net,org etc) for almost nothing?

You are technically correct, but Th bet result is that a lot of Android phones/tablets still are waiting for critical patches months after Google said, there is a patch out today, not so with Apple products unless they have been eoled, in which case the users have to decide for themselves, shall I run an unsupported is or get a new device

    Wel jess it is very restricted, why is that? Oh yes you get a relatively speaking, low interest rate because the bank has som securety (your hose/appartment) which the can take if you fall to much behind on your payments, you allso need 10-20% of the purcase price (at least in the eu),, to qualify fopr the loan in teh first place and show a steady income. From the banks point of view it is all about amnaging risks.

    Well that seem quite spesific it spesifys botf tyope of beverage, blend/make an temparture (you might hav a profile that tells the replicators what exsact temp you want hot to be, as that might vary between individuals)

    Well, changing terms is not a nice thing to do, but then again, Aiphabet provides hosting and cdn at no cost to the content creator, so if the want to maxsimize therir net ad revenue, I cb't realy blame them. Contetnt creators meay need to look at alternative revenue streams or other vido streaming platforms.

Oh well must just me me then I goes non of the people commenting on digi.no , itavisen.no or in the subreddits I follow ever post from an ios device (the to first are among norways largest it related news sites, and juging by the number of comments on apple related articles quite a few of the readers use ios devices.

    I agree, self signed certificates pose a problem, at least for things that are publicly avalble, which is why all browsers warn about them. The embeded problem however is ,as pointed out, a harder nut to crack. Sadly I have no idea on even where to start on that one.

    Well that might be, it is imposible for me to comment on Potplayer as I’ve nevere used it, but O cab say that vlc (plus the odd codec pack) as played everything I’ve thtown at it without issue. Is it prety no but ,at list in my view, that is secondery to it working. I’m not defending vlc nothing is perfect and improvments can allways be done, but someone much wicer then me onece said ‘The perfect is the enemy of the possible’

    Troll here (I was not intending to be one), sorry i messed the mark, got too focused on the atack on open source and forgot the context. It would be easy to blame my ADD , but I shuld realy bey a bit more attention to stuff like context. I must admit that destop applicstions defenetly are not the best part of the open source portfolio, I’m not shore why, maybe because UI/UxX is har to get right and allso a very specialiced field.

    Well I dissagree, per default http2 reqires https* and with http2 you get better perfotmance without durty hacks like inlining, load times are actually reduced, ok you pay for it with a bit more CPU usage, and you are right certifivates are neede but how hard it is to ad a cron job to run certbot every n days?
    * in their default configs both servers and clients require tls to run http2

  25. Hmm maybe cups is not the problem here, rather the "cheeper than a new set of ink" prinrter picked up for allmost notrhing at the local elecronics super store (or even cheaper online). I'm not saying that CUPS is perfect, but does anuone realy exspect manufacturers to spend time on CUPS drivers for a product that is low margin as it is?
