There are new laws, not tested on court that can stop the project.
I don't agree that KDE is gone. Novell still employs KDE guys and they keep making Suse's KDE a better experience than the vanilla one. Just because Suse is starting to polish Gnome as well doesn't mean they will stop polishing KDE. Anyway, there is one point in your comment that I can say for sure that is just wrong.
YaST (GUI) is GTK2/Mono
No, YaST, the GUI, is C++ and Qt 3. I should know this cause I'm woking on a GTK+ interface for it (Summer of Code project).;) And I'm not using Mono btw. Just C++ and plain GTK+.
And this doesn't prove your point. There were more Summer of Code projects related with KDE picked than with Gnome. And you can see how this is a good project for Gnome users. YaST Qt interface is still being maintained by Novell employs like ever before, and will still be used by default on KDE. Depending on the code quality I come up with and other factors, YaST GTK+ might be the one adopted for the instalation process -- but I can only hope.;)
You may want to have a look at this system: Emocracy
Basically, for each candidate you could vote in one of the four ways: positive, neutral, negative, or absent. There are some interesting analysis of such method over the website I referred.
Excelent point. There is an article that you might want to read that speaks of people trying to pass hypothesis like theories, when they don't have much more than equations or few data.
The author doesn't clam such hypothesis are false, just that they shouldn't be accepted as a given truth. He speaks of things like nuclear winter and SETI.
You americans are really a bunch a puritans, aren't you? Even if a news reporter photographed her performing a blowjob on him, how come that should be covered by news channels?? I'd expect pink-magazines to cover the story, but an information channel doing that? You think he should be kicked from his job as well because of that?
That has not been my experience. The politicean that took care of IT affairs, adviced his (big) party to vote NO to the obligatory use of free software on governmental/public computers. I sent him an email asking him about it, and, of course, accusing him of being corrupt (politiceans like compliments:P). Promptly, the next day, I got a quite decent reply (no, it was not automated). Really.
btw, I'm not american (as you can obviously detect from my english:P); I'm portuguese.
I'm European (Portuguese) and though France would not be my favorite country to live, I don't have any problem with french people -- I can't possibly think of what you mean. Anyway, I actually find their accent quite sexy for women.:P And France are not of the countries that have the higher usage of bikes: look at The Netherlands, Germany or Denmark for that.
Hey dlZ. In case you came to Europe, and you want to very different environments from your own, let me suggest you to visit The Netherlands or some other country of that region (like German, or Denmark). England is also an excelent country, because they have all you're used in the US, but very well integrated with healthy cities. Ireland is an excelent place to go because of the views. Even an amateur will make 5* photos.
Portugal, Spain, France or Italy are pretty much like the US these days. Big buildings, cars, many and huge commercial centers, etc, etc. And, ironically at the same time, have a lot of poberty.
Of course countries have lots of regions and all, but my experience has been that. Notice that I am Portuguese, so it's not like I'm trying to push the lust of my home country. Just giving honest suggestions.
And the fact that they always happen to "be married" or "dating" has nothing to do with the fact that they don't want anything with some sicko that even proposes by telephone. You don't have a clue about woman, do you?
Yes, I've seen such cinemas, but like when I was 8:). The only situations when I see this still happening is when you book your ticket for popular movies... Well, I thought it was only for popular movies, I see that you can book for any. But I doubt some guy will give his seat to a weak guy like myself if I've book-ed it in advance.;)
Anyway, it doesn't bother me much, since it is just a matter of arriving early. What bothers me is that you pay so much in Portugal for a ticket (at least comparing to the avarage income) for unconfortable seats (c'mon, they should even be adjustable!), the lack of interval (they sell drinks and won't do a pause;D), and the high prices of pop-corns and drinks (they are big, but c'mon! -- I always buy stuff on the mol's supermarket;)). The front seats should also disapear -- I've once sat there, and it was a life-time nightmare. I should sue the bastards.;)
False. I am Portuguese and that doesn't happen here. It is total crap when the movie if full. Sometime ago, I went with three friends and we sat down on the stairs because the damn thing was full. Some employee bitched so much that we eventually sliped up.

As a side note, it should be said that KHTML is also available for GTK.

BTW, this is why I mostly just rent movies from Blockbuster nowadays, and a few friends of mine get them from the net.

I'll never understand how how so many women prefer to go out with jerks.
