The only people who take the bible as literal truth are the ones who either haven't read it all, or can't remember it all at once.
I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. I have read the Bible several times, and happen to have a pretty good memory on the contents. I also take it as literal truth. Now, I do distinguish between the literal meanings and the figurative ones, but I think those are pretty self explanatory. E.G. The four horsemen of the apocalypse, I don't believe there are 4 literal horseman riding around the earth spreading pestilence, war, famine and death. It means that there will be times of pestilence, war, famine and death.
Most likely the lockdown of 1394 is because of both the networking aspect of firewire, and the fact that firewire has DMA access. Which could be a major security risk. USB does not have these "features" so does not pose as much of a threat.
"Enter the bureaucrats, the true rulers of the Republic, and on the payroll of the Trade Federation I might add. This is where Chancellor Valorum's strength will disappear."

An increase in pale surfaces would help to contain climate change both by reflecting more solar radiation into space and by reducing the amount of energy needed to keep buildings cool by air-conditioning.
Don't believe them, It's all part of an evil plot to get Slashdotters to leave the basement and go outside.
And that means that a single version - Home Premium - will be offered to consumers, with a separate version - Professional - offered to businesses. Both the Home Professional and Business SKUs will contain discrete features that aren't overlapped to the other.
It sounds like Windows 7 Starter, Enterprise, and Ultimate will only be available as OEM, VLK or as upgrades. I personally don't mind the multiple SKUs, as I use features that most users wouldn't use at the same time, such as Remote Desktop and Media Center. There are very few home users that will know about, let alone use the RDC features of Vista/7, but will use MCE. While very few businesses will use the MCE features, but use RDC. While we can complain as much about Microsoft's pricing, they are a business, and it does make sense for them to charge for additional features.

LightPeak is a buzz word. That's it. It's parsecs away from actually showing up on devices in your local Best Buy. Far from making USB 3.0 obsolete.
There, fixed that for you.
E.G.
It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.
Everything important in life I've learned from Han Solo.
This deal's getting worse all the time.
Actually, Snopes disproved that myth. http://www.snopes.com/language/apocryph/pluckyew.asp

I've been on facebook too much recently, I just went to click the "like" button.
Wired actually had an article the other day on how many ads are still effective, even when the user fast-forwards through them.
Did you not the dimensions on that wikipedia article?
I noticed you dropped this *read*. I thought I'd give it back.
The key is not to suppress free expression, but instead simply vote with your dollar or euro
I vote with doubloons you insensitive clod!
While in that case it was a lie, it's normally true. It was the first thing to pop into my head when I RTFA.

Maximus: "Would you, Quintus? Would I?"

It would have been first, but someone was on the phone.
Hmmm. It looks like there's still some speed issues that need worked out. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be able to get first post by Beta 2.

I for one welcome our new vacuum-resistant, microscopic, mutated overlords.
Ok, now can you redo this with a car analogy?
