Warcraft started the RTS genre? Excuse me? Blizzard made Warcraft after playing Command & Conquer at CES. Of which C&C & Warcraft are both predated by Dune II (Westwood Studios made both C&C & Dune II). Not to mention C&C outsold Warcraft in droves and the C&C franchise as a whole outsells the Warcraft licence in the RTS genre still today. You got things mixed up. Warcraft is the clone here buddy.
Heard this same BS a few years ago and I was actually intrested. However nothing happened then and nothing will happen now. It's a stillborn piece of tech in the US. The market for that is on Sirius & XM allready. Everyone else will continue to listen to free shit FM until the nobs fall off thier sterio or longer.
I'm sorry...CS sucks wether it's Source or not. It's sucked ass since shortly after beta 7 when the glitching, cheating, and 1337ism went into overdrive. Anyone playing Source likely has no idea what beta 7 is.
For the shit Sony has put them through the company will not allow them to use it barring massive truckloads of money (ala Square when FF the movie failed) which Sony will not do. Hell Sony could have probably licenced the rumble Nintendo uses which was more likely, but no. They believe they can do no wrong. Sounds like Nintendo back in the SNES & N64 days. Just as Nintendo deserved to fail so will Sony and for the same reason. Arrogance
And do you know how many Polys the PS2 version of RE4 had? Roughly half because because adding textures causes a huge hit on the system with the PS2 (same will happen with the PS3). The Bouncer btw was a Erhgeiz/Tobal style game which was moderatly fun for bout the first hour before you realized how half-assed the story was and how repetitive and cheap the game was. If you can't see the astoundingly low number of textures in The Bouncer your either blind or don't know what a texture is.
I love Sony fanboys. Almost no clue about what the hell they are talking about and if they do they leave out every point that could be negative about thier own console. I buy all consoles on launch since the NES, but for once the industry as a whole outside of Nintendo has left me disapointed.
Your fucking kidding me right? The system should not take 3 or 4 generations of games to actually make decent looking games (which still look inferior). I've worked with a number of dev houses (first was Westwood Studios in house doing designwork) and the PS2 is by far the biggest pile of steaming shit to work with. Sony creates the most overly complicated hardware that could be FAR eaisier to program for, but no. The PS2 sucked ass to work with and the PS3 does too. Both are computing powerhouses, but I keep hearing the same from devs I deal with. The systems are designed to look mighty hardware-wise, but suck when you try to work with them. Not to mention Sony has NEVER had good devkits. Fuck...Sony didn't even have English instructions originaly for the PS2. The manuals were all in fucking Japanese still when US studios originaly got PS2 devkits and remained that way for a long time (devs had to translate them themselves for the most part). Sony had to have a continual support line for devs to call the Japanese offices to ask how to do things and even flew Jap devs out. Go stfu you fucking AC Sony cronie.
I for one hope the PS3 will have sunk by the 3rd gen for all the shit Sony has done to the industry. Thier consoles cost more to develop for than any other by large margins and require far more time to develop for.
They haven't given up on it because in Japan the MDs are the dominant medium there. Apple and a couple other vendors (mainly Apple though) are begining to dent Sony's marketshare there though and is honestly why Sony has become more lax with the controls on newer MD players. MD players go over especially well with the concert crowd that records concerts and posts them on the internet. Plus for some reason the Japanese have a rageing hardon of a fettish with anything thats a square I shit you not (square...not boxy or rectangleish). Which just so happens to be what MD players are. Square is "cute." Go figure
Personaly it's your own fault for purchaseing a Sony phone when it's a known fact that they do that. Either you leep before you looked or you knew that'd happen and bought it anyways. Everyone that purchases something Sony knows that they are purchaseing "planned obsolence" or just plain stupid. My phone? Treo 650. Those Windows Mobile phones are teh suck outside of buggy emulators and it's rock solid.
They didn't just drop the rumble feature. They flatly aren't allowed to use it since they lost thier case with immersion so they tacked on the acceleromiter to draw attention away from the lack of it. MS settled out of court and Nintendo did something different enough to not fall under Immersion's patent.
They did with the PS2. The console was built for games like "The Bouncer" (verry little textureing and lots of polys that sucked anyways) and not games like "RE4" (games with lower poly counts and high textures). So whats to say they won't pull the same bullshit again with the PS3?
Yes and then you can have 25gigs of data "rot" on you. The 25gig disks still cost $20 to press (no for the burnables which are ALWAYS more). It's by far much cheaper to buy another HD which is re-writeable and stands up to the test of time if you stick it in a USB enclosure and disconnect it when not needed.
And this matters...why? Oh yeah...your part of the "oohhhhh look a shiney" crowd. Either that or you bought a 360 off Ebay when they were a grand and now have to convince yourself it's worth the cost.
That it does indeed, but I HIGHLY doubt you go around unplugging & plugging your TV, PC and other various appliances. I for one wish there were hard switches on most devices and even go as far to put hard-switches on those devices. Something like the Wii? I'd have to let that ride since it'd be doing something.
Thier hot-backup is located in Russia. TPB would prefer to keep the servers in a country where one of the admins are I believe and the threat of backup in Russia so another raid won't happen b/c of US pressure. GL to the **AA's on getting a Russian server.
Yes...you'll conserve sooooo much power since the model draws a whole 20watts of power at the maximum. Your PC & Monitor draw more than that when they are off.
Solution to your last sentance? Make sure your son has access to such chemicals if he wants them, know enough as to if they are dangerious and if they are make sure he respects the chemicals.
No...they really don't. I handle all sorts of stuff that their systems are supposed to catch and usualy I cary tools with me that have residue on them and to my amazement all thier swabbings NEVER have thrown up any flags on me. Just delay me for another half an hour to pay some brain damaged shit-head a job that pays slighly above minimum wage that they think is a "career." God knows they'd have a shit if thier TSA people could read thier X-Ray machines correctly with the stuff I send through. Aiport security is a fucking joke.
When they first started getting all in a tiff over 9/11 all my bags got stickers that could be tracked back to whoever checked them. If only they did that still. Was the only thing I've seen them do that seemed like a worthwhile "security upgrade."
And your point is? If someone even knows what perchlorates are to where they would order them my bets are they generaly know what the hell it is and have some idea on how to handle them. And if they don't? Well...we do have the darwin awards afterall and I'm all for selective process stepping in.
Reading/. and buying Timmy a toy at Amazon both go over port 80 and impact connections minimaly and are fine. Streaming some random shit internet radio-station all day at 128kbs (or video which neither go over port 80) cloggs a simple DSL line pretty bad. No one mentioned blocking specific sites. Just unnnecicary ports for things like streaming audio, video, torrents, other P2P, and anything else that no one has any use for at work so they can feel "connected."
Yes...they have reached 200GB with the BR disks (they may be even higher now), but how long before they are affordable by mere mortals? Standard 25GB disks last I heard were $25 a pop (pressed, not burnable) so any guesses on 200GB? Hell DL DVD+/-Rs took for fsking ever to come out and the prices were astromomical when they came out. For $800 I can set me up a 750GB Raid 4 with parity (250GB+250GB+250GB+Parity 250GB) disk which can be written to many times and thats a simple off the shelf thing (TeraStation). What happens when a drive fails? Rip one out and put the parity to use. What happens when the one backup BR begins to "age?" Sector scan for a week and pray to the great data god? However at the end of the day if your just going for long term storage catastrophic backup; Tape Backup will always blow both ways out of the water.

Dude I'm 24 and I'd be all over that. I love it when I can get away from all forms of tech.
I'm shocked you think the average 2000's geek could explain what a videogame is. Think about it.

Me thinks you need to check your Sony fanboyism at the door. AC was makeing a joke. At your expense none-the-less aparently.
For the shit Sony has put them through the company will not allow them to use it barring massive truckloads of money (ala Square when FF the movie failed) which Sony will not do.
