I'll cop out to this. This is how I broke my wrist strap. Playing baseball I was getting annoyed at how hard it was to get the ball to go above 70something mph. So I devised a clever(read:foreshadowing for dumb) technique of actually throwing the remote, and letting the wrist strap cause it to loop around my wrist afterwards. I'm proud to say I was then throwing in the mid to low 90s, but after about 3 or 4 times the wrist strap broke.

That's all that broke though, and I accept full blame for anything else that might have broken. People have to realize that it's not the company's fault that your kids started acting like kids and broke their new toy. Breaking stuff is what kids do.

You actually have a reason to kill people? Isn't that like most other games? On what grounds would have us strip their right to free speech Mr Jack Thompson?

Well, if that game actually sells, I'd imagine I'd be making a lot of money off of licensing my likeness and name to the game company to make the game with me in it. So, I'd probably be pretty happy at all the money I would be making.

Should they come out with said title? Well I probably wouldn't buy it. Probably wouldn't go to walmart much afterwards either should they carry that game. Wouldn't ask the govt to shut them down though. Just like Europe shouldn't imprison people for questioning the holocaust (dumb as it may be) just like Canada shouldn't fine people for hate speech, govt shouldn't get involved in this.

My views are based on logic and principle, not emotion, so I don't think all these "What if" questions are going to somehow "catch" me in hypocrisy.

Of course I wouldn't buy it, just like I'm not going to buy this game, but they have the freedom to sell if it they want to. If you don't want to buy it or want to boycott walmart then, well, thats your right too.

(what was the brouhaha over that one GTA game that said kill the cubans or dominicans or whaterver?). Isn't that the exact scenario you described? You don't see me asking for walmart or the govt to remove that.

I think that Wal-Mart should ignore the censors and leave this game on the shelves.
Exactly, if it sells it sells. Walmart can sell whatever they want. Whether its this game, Grand Theft Auto, the new Snoop Dog CD as someone said earlier. If you dont like some of that stuff, well no biggie, you don't have to buy it. Just don't deprive me of my free choice to buy what I want.

Also, how many people here who decry game censorship and hate people like Jack Thompson, are supporting those who want to ban this game now? And what does that say about your intellectual hypocrisy?

The world's not going to end, but it will be bad for the economy. Most of the states that raised minimum wages that saw unemployment drop saw it drop for other reasons. They were mostly all service/tourist based economies with wages already well above the minimum wage, therefore it didn't affect many people. Which is why the current minimum wage is alright now, it hardly affects anyone. Very few people make minimum wage, even fewer actually support themselves and/or family on it, and even fewer still spend any lengthy amount of time earning it before moving up in the wage scale. If you want to see the affects, look at the teenage unemployment rate. It jumped up starkly in the 1950s when minimum wage was introduced.

I would encourage you to read up on some of the economics behind the issue.

See, this is what I'm saying, regardless of intelligence, no they don't deserve anything. No one has a right to be given money. You have no right to tell me how much I can pay someone for work I want done. It's wrong morally, and it's wrong economically.
