    Than what about the Apple approved boot camp? VMware Fusion, and a bunch of other products?

    Granted those have a host OS of OSX and a VM of something else. Still why can't someone buy OSX 10.6 and put it in a VM? I know quite a few people who would do that. They have a need for OSX. However, that need does not justify buying an all out Apple computer. A VM for the use would fit the bill better.

    I know it is related to support. Jobs is afraid of people having OSX issues and people complaining about OSX. This would go against the belief that OSX is perfect and never crashes or has problems. Simply put in a disclaimer: If you run OSX on non Apple hardware or in a VM you are on your own for support. Or is that against the law?

    There are convicted hackers/crackers (take your pick on term) who have been banned from using a computer or computer like device for X number of years. So I would say, yes the court can bar you from a profession. If you are banned from using a computer, being a sysadmin is kind of difficult.

    I am more concerned with the long term servicing. Not of the turbines, but of the masts/structures holding up the turbines. To keep these standing for decades, once or twice a year the masts will have to be scraped of sea life growth.

    Who ever said the target was a military base. Nuking the trade ports with a nuke in a container would be easy to do and very devastating to the country who now has one less port. With careful timing (and container ships are very coordinated) they could hit more then one port at the same time. Effectively stopping the flow of goods in and out of said country for a while.

    Sorry but recording all MAC addresses? Google's "Do no evil" just went out the door. There is no reason for Google to record the MAC addresses of devices.

    Can people do scans and get that information, yes. The catch is they should have to do that scan to get it. ISPs most likely already know the MAC addresses, and they should it is their network.

    Google is acting like it does not have to follow the rules.

    If Apple were to buy ARM, do you really think Apple will not go over every existing design deal and change or terminate that deal? Apple would make sure that every ARM deal made Apple money while making sure that the competitors are always a step or two behind Apple. If that was not possible, the design deal is ended. Something about new owners not obligated to follow previous contracts.

    Actually the EU and governments do have that right. Unless Apple is going to stop selling it's products to other countries, Apple will have to follow the rules of those countries. Buying the source (ARM in this case) and forcing competing companies to pay more is going to raise many, many red flags.

    Buffy was on Friday nights? It started on Monday nights. Then it moved but It wasn't on Friday nights on the WB if I remember right. I thought is was Tuesday or Thursday for some reason.

    Friday nights are the dead night for the younger TV audience.

    I wonder if DVRs count as a show being 'watched' when it airs.

    You are aware that NBC owns Sci-Fi (or Sy-fy I hate the rename) channel right? Actually NBC also owns the USA channel. Which is odd. The USA channel has better shows then NBC does and it is a non main network.

    And I am not so sure about pay-per view. How do unknown shows do on pay-per-view? Firefly is know now but is wasn't always the case.

    Have you use Ubuntu remix? That looked like it was designed for touchscreens when I installed in on my mini 9 netbook.

    Also Apple looked at what people didn't like about other smart phones when designing theirs. It does pay to wait and see what works and what doesn't sometimes. As long as you avoid most of what people do not like, you should do well.

    I thought Dell had a touch screen option for one of there netbooks. They do it is the latitude netbook in the business line not the home line. Those school themed colors do not really suit me though.

    Pick up a pentium 4 cpu. See if you can get one of the 3.6 GHz ones. Watch the type of cooler you use. You want to cook on it not set the place on fire.

    I thought Intel had partnered with DEC to make the Alpha chip. Also Intel held the patents on it. Intel finally decided to tell DEC sorry but we (Intel) do not want to use these (the Alpha chip designs) anymore. Or something like that anyway. Intel forced DEC to stop making the CPU which left DEC screwed. DEC's value dropped enough for HP to buy it.

    Wasn't the pentium II more like a risc CPU with a cisc interrupter so it could run windows and the rest of the 32 bit cisc stuff? So Intel needed the Aplha to go away for the PII to happen.

    There is something wrong either with your knowledge of the material, the pace at which said company expects you the contractor to work at, or a combination of the above.

    Maybe you are not as fast on the subject as you thought you were. Or the project takes longer then 20 hours a week because of X,Y, or Z.

    The company hired you the contractor to do a job. The expect you to do said job in the amount of hours they are paying for. Either the price they are paying is really, really high, and they had to cutback on the hours per week, or maybe the consulting company over sold what they actually could do?

    That could happen and often does. Bottom line: negotiate better. You will be better off. Better does not always mean more money. They are strings attached to the bigger paycheck. Also negotiate honestly. Honestly here meaning not saying you can do anything just to get the contract. I have seen too many people do this. They usually lose.

    clearly if you knew what today is and what it is like for a lonely level 80 hunter to spend months on end doing nothing but grinding, then you would know this is more important than any game.

    If you are role playing with your girl, the "months on end of doing nothing but grinding" sounds like a good idea.

    Not talking video game grinding.

    I believe there are many people with advanced degrees and years of research who will say otherwise.

    People who have regular sex (i.e. a few time every week) are much less stressed then others. They are also healthier.

    Girls and boys are different. For boys, the best way to stop the bully is to actually fight him. If you win or even draw, the bully usually stops. if you lose, you are no worse off. With girls, they use much more complex and often meaner methods then boys do.

    I bled every school day for 8 months from bullies. I was not allowed to fight by my parents. I was more afraid of my parents then the bullies. When I arrived home with a stick shoved in one cheek and out the other, I was now allowed to fight back. I could not start it. Funny thing is with boy bullies, beating the crap out of them usually stops them from ever bothering you again.

    Rules change when you turn 18. The 17 year old though should be different. Unless the age of consent is 16 by law there, the 17 year old should walk away all charges dropped. If he did force her into it. Then he is a rapist and should be charged. The age of consent matters.

    The 18 year old might be screwed (pun intended). If they have the four years of age rule he might be OK, if not he is done.
