A police office can pull you over for a seat belt check. Then if they find other things can cite you for them. Speeding is not the reason.

Then again I was pulled over for speeding. I needed to take off my seat belt in order to reach the glove box to get the registration and insurance info. I did this in front of the police officer. The officer said I was doing 80hph in a 40mph zone. I asked to see the radar/laser gun. I also pointed out that the speedometer in my car only went to 80 and I was no where near maxing out the speedometer. He returned with a seat belt ticket. A no point ticket at the time. I might have been doing 43-44mph no way was I doing 80.

Granted thee are desktop and laptop drives not server drives, but the boss does not see that. They just see a box of dead hard drives.

This way the machines are covered against hardware failure for that time. Since not replacing these machines for a while sounds like an idea, go a bit bigger to cover you for the long haul.

You didn't say what this is for. Regular office apps, cad apps, number crunching apps, etc. The intended use of the machines really effects hat you should be looking for. A 3GHz quad core with 16 GB of RAM, 1GB video card, and 500GB hard drive should be an OK start for a CAD machine. That would cover the regular office use as well. It should cover regular office use for years. It might not cover the CAD use for years. You need to factor in the intended use of the machines as well. Also desktop or laptop?

I asked the police for an inspection sticker since they basically just performed one. Word of advice, don't do that. The police keep you pulled over even longer. I never got a ticket. I was pulled over for the song being played. This was in NJ and Philadelphia.
