Bush's actions were bad. But he was approved by congress. He thought he was protecting US citizens by "taking the war to them". So if you want to convict Bush, you may as well convict all those in congress (both houses) during the last 8 years as well.

Possible is a command line based OS but with GUI unlikely. I like to see it, I just do not see it happening. To many things are running. Turning them off means people then complain about certain programs taking too long to start.

More insulation does help though. Also blocking/covering the windows in summer helps lower the heat input.

If you are lucky enough to be building your house, make sure to get 2X6 (or 2X8) construction in the exterior walls. The extra insulation will pay for itself very quickly in lower heating and cooling bills. I know a new development in MD where this is proving true. There are two houses, same model, same layout, and both having southern exposures. The two houses are 500 feet away from each other so the same area. Both houses are all electric with a heat pump for the second story and regular AC unit for the first story. The heat is oil forced air. The oil is only used for heating not for hot water. Both houses have the same make model and size heaters, AC, and heat pump units. The only difference is one house has 2X6 exterior walls and the other has 2X4 exterior walls.

The 2X6 house uses 40-50 gallons of oil a year. The oil company cannot believe it. The 2X4 house uses 200 gallons a year. Not bad but higher then the 2X6 house. Electric bills with no heat or AC running both houses are the same (within $5-$10 of each other). During the summer there is a difference. The 2X6 house is $200-$250 a month. The 2x4 house is $400-$450 a month. Both houses have two people living there full time. The 2X4 guy asked and matched the temp settings of the 2X6 guy. So the temps are not higher in the 2x4 house. The 2X4 guy is sort of pissed for opting to save a little in the building cost and not use 2X6 in the exterior walls. He would have recouped the cost in the first year.

Given this, I fail to see how a dock is in any way superior to popping your MacBook onto a desk, plugging in the display, power, and USB cable (the ports for which are all on the same side of the laptop for the new Mini DisplayPort models, and the leads from the display are all part of a single cable that terminates in the three connectors), and starting to use it. Heck, the MacBooks will even happily run with the lid closed, driving solely the external display. Where is the advantage of a space-wasting dock then the display itself effectively is the dock?

    Yaz.

Time. And it is a lot harder to screw up plugging a laptop to a dock then all the connections everyday.

I do mean a real dock. Not the USB ones. The USB ones have terrible network speed. Everything is going through that one USB port. That special connection on the bottom (or back depending on laptop) made thing a lot easier. Remember not every laptop user is going to take the time to gently plug in the monitor, USB keyboard, mouse, and network cable. Many people have a type of keyboard they prefer. The blue tooth ones often do not fit what the end user is looking for. So just get a blue tooth keyboard and mouse is often not a viable option.

Turn it on and use the regular keyboard, mouse, and monitor is a very good thing. I know a few people that dual monitor their docked laptops while at work.

For the most part, cars with fixed (not auto turning) head lights are supposed to light up the road straight ahead (a little but to the sides but nothing more). If your head lights are lighting up more of one side of the road, they are out of adjustment.

Your road sign reasoning is wrong. On the roads around here signs are to the left, right, and overhead. Which would mean that head lights should shine on things over your car, to the left, and to the right at the same time.

There was no forcing out of the old TVs and radios. When you wanted a new one you had to get a color TV or AM/FM radio. There are still AM radio stations. I do not see them being forced to shut down (yet). That was the difference. This time around we the people seem to being forced into a change and our older TV will not work. That is something new.

My issue is what about regular cable? No separate box just regular cable. I have called my cable company four times and got two different answers. Two said that I need a converter box and two said that I would be fine. It seems like a waste to have to toss a working TV (with a great picture too). I may just wait and see. I do have a PC already recording TV which will work with all the new signals. I can watch TV on it if need be.
