Yes you can. The auto update settings: 1. download and install everything. Or 2. download and tell me there are updates ready to be installed. Or 3. do not download but tell me there are updates.

With 2 or 3 you can pick the updates to install. You click on the update icon in the lower right on the task bar (unless you moved it to a different location). Choose custom install. Do not select express. Express will install everything. Custom will let you pick which ones to install. With 2 if you just shut down and get the option: install updates and shutdown, all the updates at that time will be installed and the computer shuts down. Some of the updates (usually on vista) finish on the next power on. Yes you can choose which updates to install. But you have had to change it from the default (option 1) to do so.

I thought that Congress and the Senate were made to keep both small and larger states happy. Congress Bigger (more people) get more representatives. While the Senate each state get two representatives. Laws must pass both houses of Congress to pass.

Personally, the electoral college should go away. If we are going to have a popularity contest for President, then have that. Or carry the electoral college idea all the way down to the state level. In order to 'win' a state you have to 'win' most of that state. Not just win the counties with more people, but actually win more counties of that state. Did anyone look at the state breakdown of who took each county? One state had like 32 counties. The winner of that state got 7 counties while the other person got the remaining 25 counties. Those seven counties were where the big cities were.

I'll be modded to -1,000,000,000 for this, but the system should be changed. Either go all popular vote or expand the electoral system all the way down to the state level. To win a state you need to win the majority of the counties in that state.

Is the spent fuel from Nuke plants usable in a nuclear bomb? If it is not, then going all out for nuclear energy is the way to go. Use up all the uranium from the Earth, then all of it from the nuclear weapons stockpiles. Then when no more is left, use solar energy. No more nukes should mean no chance of a nuclear winter.

Really though I was hoping for the space elevator to work. At the top of said elevator create a solar energy plant. Out in space the solar plant should be able to create energy 24/7 cause it is always in sunlight. Of course this would mean more of a solid structure rising from the ground that reaches out past the atmosphere. We need better building materials to make it happen.
