I keep on seeing and hearing that the new batteries do not have the memory problem. But yet complaints about batteries stop taking a full charge still happen. And my battery drain method keeps working. So until it stops working I am going to keep on doing it.
I wonder how well these lead free computer are going to hold up. Lead helps the solder connections stay. No lead means these connections can separate easier.
Maybe apple is using gold solder connections. Its not lead and it would justify the higher cost of apple computers and help explain why the mac mini is going away. (I jest but if it were true I be stocking up on all of these laptops when they die)
Not everyone has learned computing on apple. Those that are used to multi button mouse (be it 2 button mice for windows, or 3 button mice for *nix) the single button mouse can be more of a PITA. Apple wanted to streamline things to keep it simple. This simple way isn't as efficient as they say it is. Now instead of using one hand to do operations, you need two. I guess it is possible for one to use the scroll pad, mouse button, and press keys with one hand I don't know how many people would find that easy to do or "it just works". (one handed people exempt for this)
I have heard from 30 different teachers (read: not the tech experts but good general computer users) who all started on macs and now are using mostly windows. They get things done with the two button mouse much faster then the single mac button mouse. I did let them know that by plugging in a 2 button usb mouse they can use a two button mouse with the mac osx. We'll see how it goes.
Using windows on the mac laptop keyboard (boot camp) is a real pain. Right clicking the mouse, then selecting is a lot faster then going through all the menus. I need to chect to see if the ctrl key and the mouse button works that same way under windows on that mac. having an external mouse is not always an option.
remember the ipod battery issues? Apple finally gave in and allowed (for a fee) people to replace the batteries. If I remember right there are ipod battery replacement kits now. The same will follow for the iphone.
It is a rechargeable battery. Remember to completely kill it once in a while. With the ipod, run it till the battery dies and the unit turns off. Then keep turning it on till it will not turn on. Then charge it until it says it has a full charge. Then kill the battery all the way again. Remember to not keep the item charging all the time. I have found that this shortens the running time (with the laptop, ipod, and cell phone anyway). I have been doing this with all the rechargeable thing I have (cell phones, ipod, laptops, cordless drills, even the rc cars from way back). You lose the use of the device for a while. But the battery stays alive. Things I use often (cell phone, ipod, laptop) get done every 6-7 months. The drills about once a year.
the RAID is in the external box. just add 5 drives set the RAID level and go. So you have to use an external SATA connection. They have cards for that if your computer doesn't have one already. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8 2E16815108103
I was thinking of doing this for myself. One for data storage and another for backup. Can be bigger then the single USB/fire wire external drives, and some redundancy.
"... if CNN started taking an active role in the violent removal of Bush..."
you really do not watch CNN do you. It may be violent, but they have been anti Bush, really anti republican from the start.
"[They] not[ed] that 31% of Wii owners surveyed in March said they expected to play the Wii more often a year from now, compared to 21% of Xbox 360 owners."
was more like: "... not that 31% of Wii owners surveyed in March said they expected to play the Wii more often a year from now, compared to 21% of Xbox 360 owners."
Trying to make it more readable or 'spin' it to their point.
Either way, if your going to quote someone, just quote them word for word. All these added words in [] are getting annoying.
it wasn't the homeless guy. It wasn't what he said he would do. It was WHO he said he would do it too. Those people (or their lawyers) got them booted. A few phone calls go a long way.
great idea but it all depends on the person that the new company is talking too. Remember 'how' you say something matters as much (if not more) then 'what' is said.
... Admit you are a sinner and deserve hell. Tell Christ that you believe in him and want him to bear the burden for your sins.
So you want others to pay the price for your own deeds. Maybe "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime" should have been taught rather then be bad, believe in him and you will be saved.
machines that we had to test vista on (we did get 128MB video cards):
PIII 800 with 512 MB ram and 1gb RAM P4 1.8, 2.0, 2.4, 2.8 ghz machines with 512 MB, 1 GB , 2 GB RAM and few P4 with HT, and pent D 805,820,840,945 with 1GB and 2GB RAM no AMD cpus are in the old systems so I will leave them out of this.
final result:
The PIII machines could run vista with all the eye candy turned off. Do this to people you really like to annoy. It was better but still painful for the single threaded p4 machines. More RAM helped but it still was slow. The P4 with HT and the dual core machines did run vista best. The ram amount should be 2 GB not 1 GB. Dual core (or the HT procs) do not spike the CPU when you start up applications. The single threaded cpus get nailed when one starts up applications. I usually start up email, fire fox, opera, a few directory listings (each of my network drive mappings in separate explorer windows). Starting all of this kills the single threaded cpus. The dual core (or HT) cpus could do this without slowing down too much. I am not going to go near the compliers yet, still testing those.
I cannot say as to how photoshop and it's cousins work, I do not use them. I am guessing that more horsepower == better.
** the AMD cpus that were tested were all AMD 64 based and they ran vista good. Again 2 GB ram was needed.
I have a PII 266 with 512MB of ram that still runs great. Granted no 64 bit computing on it bit does run as my file server just fine. Since the mother board has 5 PCI slots I have 5 SATA cards in it. Lots of disk space using an old motherboard and cpu. IT takes a while to boot up when the power goes out, aside from that it is fine.
if this is in the USA, the SEC is calling the shots. The SEC made the rules that all employees have to be fingerprinted and kept on file. My fingerprints are still on file there even though I no longer work at a financial institution.
Ever try getting a sun burn on your head? It hurts like hell. But hair comes back for me every time. I don't lay out and get a burn, but when I forget to put sun screen on my head and I burn hair actually grows back where I have lost it. It also grows back at a faster rate then the rest of my hair which is really weird. Having a few hairs appear in the desert that is my receding hair line is funny to say the least.
As long as the average joe can get all of their applications that they use on ubuntu. That is the problem that I see the most. The applications they want to use (not ms ones either) were only written for windows. This is not ubuntu's fault, it is not even ms fault, it is the company which wrote the software. They only wrote for one OS. I have tried wine for these applications. There were too many problems. Best I got was running windows in a vm. The extra step of running the VM then going in to their software was too much for them. I have found replacement applications but they want to use the application they already knew. Learning a new application to do something was too much to do.
The pilot was on NBC(?) I didn't see any differences between the sci-fi and NBC version. Maybe a few commercials were added. Unless "Frak"(sp?) is going to be added to the dirty word list.
Adding it to one of the major networks would be a good thing. Is there a market for a space/sci fi based show nowadays? Is the average joe interested in this?
I saw RE 5 on Wii and read it as: RHEL 5 on Wii and was like?? They are porting RHEL 5 to the Wii with the cordless controllers?
that is it I am going home now.

The reason to combine audio and video in one cable is: fewer cables.
why am I reminded of this:
The grim reaper is standing next to the grave markers of JFK, RFK, and John Jr. A voice from above yells "I said TED! TED Kennedy!"
there goes any karma I ever had any chance of having
which "Starbuck" would you rather spend a week alone with?
I know which one I'd pick.

isn't that what WOW players do now? $40 for the game then $5 (or $15) a month to keep on playing. I am not sure on the price I have never played WOW.
