Interesting that he would mention not worrying about viruses. If history repeats itself that should be short lived. Amiga was one of the worst in the old days for viruses. Most of them at the time came from floppies because it had this habit of auto booting the disk the moment they were placed in the drive. Hopefully the new OS is better guarded but the limited user base is likely to be it's best defense.
So that's why Windows is virus haven, it all because of Auto-Run.
Microsoft could say anything they liked in those agrements. Who going to fork the money over to sue them. The US and EU combined couldn't get Microsoft to do what they want(though that was the courts picking on MS for serving the consumer).
Normal people shouldn't have to care about them; normal people setting up Web pages should have software (whether it's on their machine or on their server) that lets them use something simpler than Full Frontal HTML to set up the page.
Yeah with the introduction of XML into HTML, has made it completcated enough to need a web design program to do it for them.
Yeah they provide choice. But why do they(the programs) have to use two different gui libraries?
Personally I think it would be improved if the X library could chain its drawing routines to the approiate desktop environment. And the program uses the X interface and the program then appears like KDE app in KDE and a gnome app in gnome.
It makes more sense for measurment tho be based upon the speed of light because they can calibrate the measurement the same everywhere. How are they going to calibrate a measurment based on the length of a decaying dead foot?.
Also the metric/SI system is a lot more logical because the difference between each unit are multiples of 10, which makes it easy to perform calculations with.
document.write('25,000 bottles of beer on the wall, 25,000 bottles of beer. Take one down and pass it around - 24,999 bottles of beer on the wall');
A much better form for 25000 lines would be having, 12499 bottles of beer on the wall lines, an initlization statment, and a decremeant function after every write line. That way you can easily modify the code to start off with what ever number you want.
Yes but Joe Sixpack suffers from a common disease when he sits infront of a computer, the dreaded Luv Vacancies Brain Syndrome. Yet he doesn't suffer it from anything else.
the Emacs Desktop Environment.
Well if you lived in A a certains country town in NSW, Austrlia it would be harder to find tobacco smokers.
Hopefully Linux is never ready for Joe Average(Mr Stupid Computer User #456767), because that would destroy what linux is.
Which no one uses as a standard GUI, they use qt and gtk and other libraries.
That why there is this video Mac Gamer.
Like GeekDate? Dates for Nerds. Nerds that matter.
When I read the headline I though the article was initally an installer for Debian GNU/Windows. LOL

IT isn't open source, so how do you know whether the software does traditional spyware activies as well.
And Witches are the Devil's Servants and they deserved to be burnt at the stake.
Either that or ask them if they want their website tested for security holes. The bill the webhost for their time.

That is what I was thinking. Wasn't the whole idea about firefox was for it to be a internet browser only, cutting the fat from Mozilla/seamonkey.
And what is wrong with software you have to pay for?
I think they were going for humor mods.
Obvisouly you must be a poor admin if you have to do it your self. Any resalable admin would have a script the stops their service.
Hear Hear
At least the people who forked vi to make vim had the right idea(adding support for arrow keys).
Well I think it adds up to 3.0 with 1.0 being things like usenet, gopher. 2.0 being the tradional www. And 3.0 being the interactive web apps.
Can't Resist. Why would he have RSS and Atom in the Kernel? An list of panics?
