Presumably its only a problem if you run software with this particular EULA under wine. Besides most of the really essential DLLs already have wine equivalents.
I think a better thing to say would be that they have no choice with licensing on Linux/BSD. Linux/BSD players/encoders don't use their code so they don't have to licence it.
When the next draft comes around, how many of you will run to canada and claim you're a Consienance Objector (sp?). How many of you will encourage your children, if they're of age, to go fight for this country?
I'm British so I cant really comment on American wars but if the next draft is for another Falklands or Iraq I'm not fighting.
I'm not sure if there's a law about it or something but every phone I've had lets you call 999 without unlocking it. I think the idea is that you don't have to mess with the phone too much when you need it.
Why is this a driver? From what I gather all it does is read some data from a disk and use it to decide if some software can run or not. This looks like something that could easily be done in user space. Maybe I've missed some fundamental aspect of its workings though.
Just one thing that neither you nor the article pointed out for choosing speakers. LISTEN TO THEM. Find a shop that can demo them and take along a selection of the stuff you'll use them for. Sure the specs might look better on some models but the specs won't tell you much about how they actually sound. Are they clean, punchy, warm? Does dialog sound clear on them? Are there certain sounds they don't do well? Choose for the sound not the numbers.
Many people download movies that they deem not worth of paying to go to the cinema. Should there be no p2p, they would not see the movie anyway nor buy the DVD => No profit loss.
The films I really like, I watch them in cinema. They movies I love, I get the original DVD too. The movies I don't care about, I download them and watch them when I have nothing better to do. But no way I was going to go to the cinema to see them.
Does anyone else think that any opportunity is being missed at cinemas? There should be a rack of DVDs by the exit so people can buy them on the way out while they still feel good about whatever film they just sat through.
not excusing the current government in any way but... conservatives - appointed David Cameron as leader in a blatant attempt to take over from the lib-dems as the only party without grey hair. lib-dems - liberal in the same way that China is a repuplic.
It would look pretty dodgy in court if they claimed to be Swedish for their torrent operations to make them legal and then claimed to be using an exception to copyright from American law
There's settings in the BIOS to disable most of those, turning on quick booting (I think that's what it's called) and setting your hard drive as the first boot device should improve things.

Are the petrol and lighters included or do I have to get them separately?
KISS are ok apart from the songs with the words rock and/or roll in them
I was more trying to get at the idea of a pointless bit of land on the other side of the world or a not too threatening to us dictator.

Did I just read that right. They died. That means they're dead. So how are they going to slap the crap out of anyone?

...and make one of the words "off". He's probably just looking for money. If he actually has a case his lawyers will get in touch.

You forgot number 3, showing the clip where they demonstrated the CD just to prove that they actually got something right once.

Is it just me or does this post turn up on every IFPI story?

In the UK there's a law that says you can keep stuff that's sent to you without you ordering it. I'd imagine Sweden is similar (EU and all that).
A more interesting question: would it allow an invasion of the US?

I would think being on the other side of a great big ocean would be more of a nightmare for the RIAA
It wont affect your employability unless you actually mention the fact that you've seen MS code.
2 things. First, how does a comment on grammar help this "discussion" (this is slashdot) in any way? Second, "Debian are ..." is correct.
Ah, I see. Having only paid for one of the games I didn't know about the rebate. Still I thought 2004 was far better than 2003. 2003 just seemed slow.
UT, UT 2003, UT 2004, UT 3?? what happened there?
I've actually got stuff by all of those, I gave up after the 3 I put up as they seem the most "commercial".
