I was just adding credence to the notion that it was a funny and original post. I hate when people around here act like all humour must be a quote or a reference..
I've always liked the other Indies since I was a kid. Yes, now that I'm an adult the cheesiness and unrealism is very noticeable, but it's the same with James Bond, etc. Any action film that was actually "realistic" would be pretty dull (apart from perhaps District 13).
Willow is cool, haven't seen the other two though, never even heard of them until I looked him up on IMDB earlier today.
Indiana Jones was great (the first 3 anyway). If he'd made anything else decent then it would be recognised as such. Plenty of other writers/directors have made more than just one successful movie/series.
I think it might depend whether the cat has been out getting pollen on its fur. My hay fever doesn't seem as bad as it used to be either though, at least I don't get itchy eyes like I used to.
I've found out recently I get rashes on my arms/shoulders if they come into contact with grass, though my hands are fine with it.
You seriously think that someone who knows how to set up "a 1 kilowatt microwave HERF gun with a microwave stirring device rotated using motor controlled by a PWM signal to vary the speed" doesn't know that it will burn biological material?
And the "RADIO WAVES ARE EVIL!" bit didn't tip you off?
I think you are the one that needs "un-dumbened" in this scenario. Yes, there are a lot of ignorant people out there, but in this case it was clearly a joke.
Well the first responder is correct that I was just making a joke, but the whole reason I switched to console gaming was so that I didn't have to use Windows any more. When they bring out the Steam client for Linux I probably will buy/build a gaming machine again.
Lots of console games have an auto-aim function that acts similarly to an aim-bot cheat on PC consoles. I bought Reistance: Fall Of Man when it was at budget prices to see what everyone had made a big deal about. Suddenly I understood why console gamers think Halo is a good game.
It does require less energy yes, so is casual in that regards. But I don't understand how the strategy element is any different - it just means it's more difficult to aim well.. which in fact makes it even more "hardcore" in some respects, but just less impressive to watch. And lots of console games have auto-aim. I hate that. I always turn it off where possible.
Then again, you could just get a Fragnstein and quit bitching. I bought one but I've only used it for single player games so far.
I've not had to edit any config files on Ubuntu since version 8, apart from Apache - which needs exactly the same setup on Windows.
Evolution doesn't have a decent Windows port (there is a port available, but it crashed on installation and I couldn't be assed trying to diagnose it, just left the user with Outlook).
Windows "feels" worse than any OS I've ever used, with maybe the exception of Amiga Workbench 1.3.
I always file my pictures in folders with the date that they were taken in YYYY-MM-DD format, so yes I've been able to do that in both Windows and Linux ever since I started taking photos. I don't get people that leave photos on their camera for weeks (or longer). Plus if anyone else is that disorganised then I'm sure there must be one or two file explorers or photo organisers for Linux that can sort by photo tags.
Very, very true. Although PowerShell is quite powerful... but quite different from most shell scripting in the UNIX world.
You really expect any CLI, no matter how awesome, will make Windows users jealous? I definitely think Compiz is one of the few ways to make your average Windows user jealous of Linux, with perhaps your favourite package manager coming next. I remember reading that MS are building an app store for Windows though, so it won't be something to be jealous of for long!
Of course, trying to make other people jealous of you is pretty pathetic.
Wouldn't it just come right out again next time the gas pump is used? Do you then have to follow the car that pumped it into their tank? Genius! We now know how to find out who's a terrorist and where their secret bases are hidden!
True, but that's what virus scanners are for (and Firefox/noscript etc).
I only ever downloaded No CD cracks for the GTA III series and maybe a couple of other games. I was pretty wary of them at first and obviously scanned for viruses, but they were fine.
Well it does depend on the size of the game, but at those speeds you should be able to download a whole DVD in the time it would take you to walk a marathon!
Downloading overnight is always an option, and depending on how close the shops are and available methods of transport, may still be more convenient for a lot of people. When the online version is actually cheaper (as it should be) then it's an easy choice to make IMO.
Your main issue here seems to be lack of hard drive space.. though the Xbox does have a really weird system there so I maybe can't advise you to upgrade it. I bought a 40GB PS3 and shoved a 320GB HDD in there, I'm very happy to buy stuff online if it's cheaper. No having to wait days for delivery or go shopping, just download the game in a few minutes and go.
Just download a No CD crack. There's no reason to have the CD in for most games (well there may be music on there but for stuff like GTA you can copy it to the game directory).
Yeah, that's definitely the money's fault. Everyone who's ever become a millionaire has ended up homeless! Oh, wait..
Besides - it's not surprising that the types of people who are dumb enough to waste money on lottery tickets, or lazy enough to want to just win a bunch of money instead of earn it, etc are going to make bad choices when they do have that money. I am surprised anyone could be dumb enough to end up homeless after being a millionaire, but I probably shouldn't be. Personally I'd buy a decent house and an even nicer car, figure out how much interest I'm getting and live off that interest, probably with a subsidy of a part time job..
I think you've been had.
I was just adding credence to the notion that it was a funny and original post. I hate when people around here act like all humour must be a quote or a reference..
Ahhh, finally someone who cares is trying to implement the idea I had ~10 years ago!

Gotta love "sorta" and "minga" :D

Whoosh, indeed.
Hmm.. so we don't want the government to have totalitarian control over anything.. apart from when it furthers your own agenda?
He was comparing the two, not talking about mixing them.

As long as my console has the "penetration" factor, there's no way I'm switching back to PC gaming. Whoah baby!
It does require less energy yes, so is casual in that regards. CLI/scripting system that actually works
Very, very true. Although PowerShell is quite powerful... but quite different from most shell scripting in the UNIX world.

Nonsense projects like trying to destroy the world's economy and get one of their main markets to despise them?
Wouldn't it just come right out again next time the gas pump is used? Do you then have to follow the car that pumped it into their tank? Genius! We now know how to find out who's a terrorist and where their secret bases are hidden!
What is the supposed reasoning behind that? Do they not want as many Americans as possible alive to buy their oil?
True, but that's what virus scanners are for (and Firefox/noscript etc).

hardly, as long as he's not trying to sell it or otherwise make money from it..
Yeah, that's definitely the money's fault. Everyone who's ever become a millionaire has ended up homeless! Oh, wait..
