Acquiring a copy of something you already have bought would seem to be fair use sure, I'm just talking about downloading something you never have and never do intend to pay for, even though you should from a legal point of view.
Some networks, for example, should never be connected to the internet in any way. Please don't say such things! What if any Hollywood writers are reading this!? Won't someone please think of the implausible movie scripts?:(
Then how come it's illegal to copy whole works from a library? You are allowed to copy small amounts of copyrighted material, or whatever comes under 'fair use', but I hardly think downloading permanent copies of full albums comes under 'fair use'. Not to say that I haven't done that in the past, but I don't necessarily think it's a good thing to do. The vast majority of my music has been legally bought and paid for (I don't take responsibility for the large amount of 80s classics in my 'misc' folder, they were copied from a guy at work):p
So we all train up in GTA: San Andreas first, what's the big deal?:P Plus that stupid lander couldn't even land 10 degrees off the normal or it would crash, but humans tend to be able to move their legs around to compensate for that kind of thing. Or are you talking about coming in too fast rather than landing at an angle? Because that would suck:O
All that tension, stress, and road rage, not to mention the speed traps. It is so dangerous and inefficient. Absolutely correct. All you should really need for jetpack commutes in busy airspace is a jousting pole, a good helmet, and perhaps some air to air missiles
Exactly. You also get Remote Desktop/Terminal services on WM smartphones. If you're gonna say stuff like that then you could say that anything connected to a network is a potential 'supercomputer'
Oh right, because you're not choosing to create a copy on your own computer when you download it? It magically appears and is not in fact a copy, but a clone, or perhaps a duplicate?
Plus the fact that these guys don't upload any copyrighted material, so technically what they are doing is legal, unless there is a law which relates to this. I just used TPB a little earlier to get a link to a SuSE 9.2 DVD torrent (because I don't know any SuSE 9.2 repositories and the SuSE 10 DVD is giving me 2 swap file options when I try to run it to update our webserver, and neither works..)
It also requires certain types of job. You can't weld or make sandwiches via the internet.. well without specialised equipment. Even as an IT worker who is primarily doing coding right now, I can't telecommute because I still have to do the odd IT support job occasionally (which I could just talk people through or do via Remote Assistance I guess, though I still think asking if I can telecommute is going too far, and I'd probably end up really lazy and just work from my bed:p ).
IMO it's already been happening, even without the Eee PC. Dell and other large vendors (dont Walmart do cheap Linux desktops?) are taking notice and getting on board. Vista is making people aware that they don't have to just use XP, and the fact that it has a lot of incompatibilities, and plain sucks, makes it a better time for people to try out alternatives (or 'evangelise' to their friends, but I cba these days, I'm happy even with little things like Firefox taking off and showing the possibilities of opensource software on the desktop.. in fact I have to point out Firefox next time someone looks incredulously at me when I suggest that they can get a free piece of software like the GIMP to perform a function that they usually pay for..)
I usually get by with using my fingertips/nails (and no I don't have small hands, though I guess I have fairly rounded fingertips:P ). Some comptetition would be nice, but considering it is a Microsoft product, it does work fairly well for me (but I mostly use it as a phone and for the calendar rather than doing a lot of activesyncing - if I do need to sync my email I just do it directly with the Exchange server over the GPRS connection)
Uh.. it's pretty easy to grow significantly from 0% when your creator uses their monopoly powers to make it the *only* Windows option in a lot of cases. Vista adoption is piss-poor compared to all the hype that has been surrounding Longhorn for the last few years (even I thought that maybe Microsoft had got their act together, but the fact that even the Microsoft pandering public doesn't like it has given me back a little of my faith in human kind). If it were a choice between XP and Vista then only the posers, and those too rich to care about their power and hardware requirements, would actually be choosing to use Vista (I was happy, secure and virus free with 98 until about 3 years ago when I finally decided that XP was patched up enough and worth upgrading to).
Someone should warn SF Zoo!

That's completely accurate. Which is why I have my rockets strapped to my feet, whose stability issues I solved around the age of 1 years old

Because we know what could possibly go wrong - it rhymes with flat, and often results in fairly flat objects too.
Wouldn't that be more hypocrisy than irony, or you only mean if he didn't notice that others had made those posts.

Except that the guy who plays Borat is in fact a Jew and his jokes are meant to be ironic, not racist.

Is that meant to be ironic (considering the title of these posts), or did you really just not notice that other people have already said that? ;)
Nah it's the same in the UK as well, and most likely all other countries. Data prices are completely insane.
I concur.. shouldn't this be "cellphone thin client developed"? Or is that not groundbreaking enough for the mods..
Indeed.. you should see how quick I can finish Minesweeper on Windows 3.1! I also have Quake running at 1600fps, but my monitor can't keep up :(
look at Gnome
give fishing rod to gnome
sleep
take fish from gnome
eat fish
Don't mind me, I'm also fighting the urge to use Multi User Dungeons. I was a fool to think that rehab was the end of it.
Heh, perhaps you can rest easier knowing that that same gentle whirl and hum of hard drives and fans is driving the RIAA to insanity ;)
Well, you live in America don't you? What do you think those gun things are for?*
*I am a UK resident and as such do not have the same liberties with firearms

I think you underestimate the efficacy of electrical tape in general. Especially when secured with duct tape.
