No, I dont see the point since you are retaining your launch capability. I wasn't saying that countries shouldn't be fully autonomous, but I also dont see the point in this case of keeping these shuttles as a stopgap measure, when an alternative is already available until NASA has their new fleet sorted out.
Meh, it works for Switzerland. I think when it comes to defense it's fine to develop your technology, but keeping a bunch of decrepit shuttles just for the sake of not being all chummy with Russia is sad. Very very sad:( One of these kids is not like the other, lalalalalalala...
Maybe if they didnt act like such jerks then you wouldnt need all that damn 'rocketry'. In this case there is no point at all to keeping the american rockets apart from stupid national pride. It's not even like you're depending on them forever, you're just cooperating with the russians until you have developed the next stage of your program. Why can't you learn to play nice - never watched Sesame Street? Or do they promote kicking your neighbour rather than sharing on Sesame Street these days? I'm a bit out of touch.
Evolution's fix: make them hurt like hell when struck so you learn not to mess with them. A Microsoft-style hack. Either that or it shows that God has a sense of humour? Or is just giving a convenient way for girls to protect themselves in situations where they are usually at a gross disadvantage because the man is already stronger.. you can go at it with a bunch of supercomputers if you'd rather have to beat someone senseless with a heavy implement (or perhaps just shoot them?) rather than just kick them in the nuts and run away.
But then you'll drive yourself insane from all the extra testosterone and adrenaline pumping through your body, and end up killing yourself in a bitter showdown with Spiderman..
Yep, that level of optimisation is getting a little silly (especially when it can be done rather easily by the compiler anyway) for most applications, but in general we just don't even need to think about memory requirements or efficiency these days for most apps. It's nice to be able to do that, but for example it would be nice if the lovely chaps down at Microsoft tried to minimise the amount of resources their flippin OS takes up and leave more for the actual 'important' bits - the applications. Oops that almost turned into an MS rant..
Okay, remove the US from that, it's still a good idea for the UK;) lots of people are just going over to France to pick one up (and it's actually cheaper than the UK version, though obviously you have to pay for your travel)
I've always thought that, didn't realise there was a law for it. People used to optimise everything way back when, but now I suspect that most people just let the faster processor take care of things rather than trying to squeeze every nanosecond of performance out of their apps:( At least graphics are still getting faster just because they're adding more parallel processors to the chips..
There's plenty of Wii's in mainland Europe though. They could maybe redirect some to the US/UK to help satisfy demand? I got one before Christmas last year anyway so I dont mind, hehe.
Meh, hide all your household appliances behind a gateway!! *shakes fist* And keep your hands off my trees you long fingernailed hippy! You can chew on these damned polar bears that keep migrating here to get away from all that global warming, since it's so frackin freezing here right now..
He doesn't even ask that o_0 He 'revealed' plenty in the bible. Maybe you mean asks to trust there is more than most of us have personally seen or experienced.
That's because they forget to fill up their tanks, numbnuts. I doubt transatlantic pilots get halfway across and go "oh shit honey, I forgot to fill up the gas tank again!! >.". They have people for that kind of thing.
I was responding to the 'right' poster? Or are you referring to his post? Tbh I dunno what appropriate place there is for his rant.. probably should just go in his sig or journal..
How on earth is that a troll? Office 2007 really doesn't make any sense if you've been using computers for any length of time.. sure I expect I could get used to it if I had to, thankfully any typing I do is just coding rather than reports and whatnot. And even if I did have to do a report I'd probably just use wordpad rather than that evil monstrosity..
Possibly because you aren't actually being relevant.. certainly aren't in this case anyway, hijacking some other thread with your 'important question'. And yahoosyourdaddy, that's freakin hi-larious!:D ho ho ho. Merry Christmas.
I'm not from the US. I was referencing GitS too with Section 9 and fully cyborg.. if I could afford to get the body then I'm pretty sure I could afford the maintenance;)
Yeah I dont really like MGS, but that's more because of the perspective. I'm not really a big stealth fan (in single player games at least.. because you know it's all just an elaborate puzzle game)
none of your penises will likely work by then either
Speak for yourself! Anyway, I dont know about you, but I'm planning on going fully cyborg by then anyway. Then I can join Section 9!

That's why god invented shotguns, son. Or was it Abraham Lincoln? Meh, I can't remember.

Well, Unions have many layers, one of which no doubt involves eradicating eating and/or having sex while on the job.
Actually they already have those, but if we keep giving human jobs to machines then we'll have nothing left to do but eat and have sex.. hmm..
My Cray is allergic to Linux, you insensitive clod!

I think I read that journal a few months ago actually :p

Damnit, how are us guys meant to compete with that?
