Why do they need to waste time getting a "credible source" to deny not very credible accusations? If I gave a list of accusations for 100 agents right now, should the FBI take those 100 agents off of whatever they're doing to give a press report?
I've had to support Blackberry users several times in the last 10 years, and the configurations options on the phone are just organised really badly. I'm sure the interface is fine for using if it's set up correctly, but it's not like iOS or Android are hard to message with either.
I'm happy with HTTPS security, I don't work for a government agency.
I don't see Exchange as a third party add-on, because we already used Exchange for years before ActiveSync DirectPUSH came out. It's not "third party" because it works directly between Exchange and all good phones. I think even BBs can use ActiveSync accounts these days..
Sigh. I guess this troll makes a valid point that the average idiot might think something like this. Most educated people would know better of course. I hope you find a job that you enjoy!
Very few people would donate. Watching movies at the cinema is often a poorer experience than watching at home, for various reasons, but it is one way to guarantee that people pay to watch your movie..
I'm aware that there will be less browsing done on mobiles and tablets than on "normal" computers. I was just saying it's one way to show Linux marketshare in a positive light - by selectively looking at the smartphone and tablet market.
Also does that site look for fingerprints for individual devices, or does it just count all page hits? If it's not counting individual devices then it's a pretty poor way to gauge things.
Are you kidding me? The Unreal single player was incredibly boring. You are fighting the same enemy, with pretty much zero intelligence, over and over. It's the same as Halo. Those games are only fun in multi-player.
Half-Life was the first FPS that interested me enough to play it through to completion. The Half-Life story is so much deeper than Doom. It makes you feel like you're in some kind of sci-fi-conspiracy-fugitive movie. There is an actual script, and it's quite humorous in places. They both involve multiple dimensions sure, but the involvement of G-Man makes everything in the Half-Life universe much more mysterious and creepy.
I quite like Shogo it has to be said. So much better than the crappy single player modes that are tacked onto the majority of today's popular shooters (Halo, COD, Resistance..).
If you wish, but I consider the smartphone and tablet market as separate from the desktop market. I was just saying that it's a possible way to cast Linux market share in a positive light, albeit in a slightly tangential way from the main story which focuses on the desktop market. There is massive potential in the tablet and smartphone market.
I reckon the tablets coming out with HD screens and keyboard docks (Lenovo Ideatab K2, Asus TF700) are going to kick a lot of ass and have the potential to take a bite out of the netbook/low end laptop segment. There aren't really any downsides to them unless you *must* run Windows, but there are plenty of upsides (battery life, can detach from keyboard, interface is more task oriented and user friendly than most desktop OSes, market with automatic management of application updates etc).
Sure because untargeted advertising is vastly preferable.
I don't have any dirty little secrets waiting to be aired - or at least, none worse than would appear for most other people if such a database got into public hands.
I live in the UK so over 99% of cars here are right hand drive anyway:p I do find it a bit awkward playing arcade games where the gear shifter is on the right.
Anecdotally speaking, yes. I know, it seems counter-intuitive, but from my experience, switching stance to right-hand-on-fretboard is far more difficult than it at first appears.
As another anecdote, I tried switching sides and found it a lot easier than expected. I actually played some songs better than when I'd first played them the right way around, although it would have helped that by then I knew the song pattern better (albeit back-to-front..)
Exactly. For those who have completed Guitar Hero/Rock Band on Expert, it's a fun challenge to go back and play upside down. It's surprising how much actually carries over I found.. I managed to complete first time a couple of tracks that took a bit of practice on my "good" side.
Oh yeah, I also play guitar right handed. I actually think this probably gives a benefit to dexterity on the fingerboard, which requires more spacial coordination than simply choosing which string to pluck. So I'm not sure why left handers even want to play using the opposite orientation - especially given that this means you can't just pick up any old guitar at someone's house and play.
I hope you're interested in mechanical engineering, and where I might be going for lunch. You'd be better off monitoring Skype though.

Really, who cares?

Currently the meme is that RIM is dying and I suspect this has its origins in the large and well staffed Apple and Microsoft PR departments
Um. Okay. Nothing to do with Blackberrys being shit to use, and requiring a third party server add on to work effectively, then?
I doubt that anybody on Slashdot is a paragon of healthy eating and frequent exercise.
Doubt away, but you're wrong :)

there is NO way of doing this legally..
Yes there is.. torrents.
WTF is stopping them ???????????

The good news is I won my bet about whether Black Mesa or Ep3 would come out first.
Well.. not quite yet :D
McDonalds are probably at work on it right now :)
But really we want pigs. Can't make a BLT without pigs.
Um.. no. Just no.
Well actually, I've seen a few ATMs with BSODs or other Windows error messages on them :p

linux must be cast in a good light at all costs
If that were true, why isn't Linux even mentioned in the summary? :p
Yep, because he blew his cover one day by posting from the wrong account! :p
Might be a woman
Exceptionally well compared to what, exactly? It was crap compared to apt when I tried it a few years ago.
Did you even notice his username?
I'm pretty sure this is PizzaAnalogyGuy. And Dr Bob (I think?) the chiropractor :p And I know who made Dr Bob since he slipped up one day..
