The article gives about as much detail as you need really. The heap stuff sounds familiar, I think they mentioned that they were going to optimise it pretty early on. It is nice that they've achieved such speed gains though, especially on the driver side.

  4. The only way to deal with it is brainwashing, since that's how it got in there in the first place. Logical reasoning can help, but only if the mind is in a state to accept the reasoning. I don't think anyone is claiming you should stand there and take it.. if someone was being that much of an asshole to my flatmates as well as just me, and then had the gall to physically hit me while I was trying to help tidy up, I'd probably punch him in the solar plexus. That might have shocked him enough to think about how much of an asshole he was being, or at least to stop treating you like a doormat.

I often try to be patient with bad situations, and usually I'm quite shy and unwilling to risk insulting people, but if they actually threaten or insult me (or even worse, people I care about), I seem to develop a pair pretty quickly. It's one of the few times that I've noticed I naturally look people in the eye without feeling awkward.

I just wear my jeans and t-shirt, and occasionally throw an shirt on over the top when I want to be a bit more "professional". The dress code here is "anything with a collar". I got into trouble for wearing awesomely comfortable sweat pants one time, so now I stick with jeans :p

Android and iOS are about as capable as each other, with sizeable app ecosystems. Windows Phone is lagging way behind, and will never catch up.

Obviously both are a part of this type of race. Previously due to necessity, but now in the ages of high speed cameras and other tech, just due to tradition. If they simply wanted to see who could do the fastest 100m from a flying start, they could just let everyone start whenever they want, and measure their performance from 10m to 100m.

"The short answer is that Logitechâ(TM)s Unifying receiver delivers much greater energy efficiency than Bluetooth and is one of the ways that weâ(TM)ve optimized the keyboardâ(TM)s energy management.

To explain it further, unlike Logitechâ(TM)s Unifying receiver there is there is a very noticeable latency upon reconnection of Bluetooth technology when a product âoewakes-upâ after a period of non-use. To side-step this issue, Bluetooth requires a device keep the wireless connection active as long as possible, which is an unnecessary drain on energy. A Bluetooth solar keyboard like the Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 would not have been feasible with todayâ(TM)s available technology."

I linked both my keyboard and trackball up to one receiver, which I have hooked into a USB hub on my desk, so it doesn't waste any ports on my laptop..
