Sounds like they've improved since I last saw them:) For most RTS games, they sound like they'd work fine. 3d games you'd probably need to run at 800x600, which is a tad low. I can definitely seeing having one as a dedicated server sitting in the corner of the room. Especailly with games like UT offering full web management of the server.
The price though is where it turns me away from them. Besides, I like building my own boxes, seeing as how I've been doing it for 11 years:) ---GEEK CODE---

Not only do they give you the option, but it comes enabled by default. Both the AP340s I have had shared keys enabled by default.
I average 8Mbps on my cable modem. I occasionally hit 10, which is my max because of the ethernet interface on the modem. Theoretically, I could get upto 35, but I'd need a properly designed modem;)

That's why you collect noise from multiple sources, and combine them in some fashion to generate your random number. For instance:
A. radio in on the sound card
B. Use that number to determine a range of RAM to read.
C. Use what is stored in the RAM segment to determine something else to sample (temperature, time +- RAM block, etc..)
D. Perhaps combine the results into one number that you use as your random number.
I'm sure there are better ways of doing this such as cosmic rays, measuring the earth's Van Allen belt, etc..
Do you know if it compiles on a 386? I've got my old 386sx-25 in a compact AT mobo, and I've thought about trying to fire it up one of these days. Might be as cool as getting netbsd to run on my dreamcast:)
If you don't want overhead, don't run X. Even if it isn't using much cpu time, it's still using ram. While you do have 20 megs, loading and caching mp3s would probably be faster with more of that ram availiable to mpg123.
Was it just me, or did question one go on forever? I mean, he brought up some good points, but man, it was long. In fact, every question was broken up into several parts. Why not just have them all as seperate questions?
I've been snagging FC off of ebay for awhile now, and there hasn't been much competion. Now, everything will probably end up costing twice as much. Still I can't complain too much, I picked up a 10K rpm 36Gig drive for $180 a few weeks ago.:)
This has happened to me (and still does). I'm 20, but have been using computers extensively for about 11 years. I've been building networks for 7. But still, I can't advance in my current job because of my age. If I was 30, but had only 4 years of experience, I could probably move up, but it's basically been said straight to my face that I'm too young.
So, I'm looking for a new job. It's pretty simple really. If the company you are with will not let you be responsible because of your age, then you go some where where they WILL let you. I would love to be a CTO, but I don't see that happpening for several more years. But I sure as hell could be a senior Lan Admin or Network Engineer, but am unable to in my current position.

hehe, mines free. 8mb/s down 768k/s up. And I haven't even tweaked the head end yet. Since I'm one of the only people in my neighborhood who has cable, I should be able to get close the the maximum for my modem which is 30 down and 8 up.
