Anyone remember that slogan from all those years ago? What the MPAA and RIAA would like to do, in the ideal world, is to confiscate everyone's VCRs, tape recorders, etc., and even then they would not be happy because people could hum tunes or act out what they'd seen on the TV.
I really don't see how their insistence that copy protection should be installed into VCRs would help. Let's see, there are how many VCRs currently in use? 100 million? 200 million? Even if new domestic machines did not have the ability to record certain shows, all they would be doing is preventing Mr/s home consumer from copying them - big time pirates with lots of $$$ would surely have devices available to break protection. I bet the pirates are rubbing their hands together with glee!
Freeveracity does not appear to be Open Source. I'm not sure I would be completely happy with loading onto my machines an application that I can't see the workings of, that opens yet another port for communication purposes. Even if it is an unprivileged port. I can just see this being a nice target for crackers....
B-i-i-i-i-g surprise - industrial pollution. in order to produce things faster/cheaper, little notice is taken concerning what damage might be done to the workers or to the environment.
Will we ever learn? Same old story. Short memory, short memory.
Hmmm.. Me smell a rat. If the firm fingered 330,000 people and the lawyers submit 60,000 pages, even with a few thousand pages of legal babble, that only comes to about 6 users per page.
Are these pages printed in a large font? Or maybe each user's biosketch is included with every name? Perhaps the pages are very small?
I and confused, and I think there is a bit of exaggeration going on somewhere....
General Protection Fault? He's related to Major Systems Failure or some Kernel or other isn't he?
Of course the *real* reason they are carrying laptops is to mete out such on the spot sentences as "Install Windows 2000 server" and "count the bits in a gigabyte, out loud, one by one" (the former being the heavier sentence).
Wow. One will do 60 and 90 rpm. And to think I used to play my singles at a measly 45 and my 78s at, well, er, 78. At 60 RPM a Chipmunks single must be very entertaining:-)
On the up side, these do contain an "excellent vacuum cleaner". Wonder how it deals with kitty litter deep in the carpet?
> Having an argument with a cow-orker
:-)
I sincerely hope you mean "co-worker" and not "cow-porker"

Exactly what I did. I used to use KDE 1.1.2 and recently tried KDE 2 (1.92? latest beta anyway)
I now use Gnome with Helix.... 'Nuff said?
But if we put up much more "space junk", the Earth _will_ have an asteroid belt!
If I get one and use it to view dirty pictures, will hair grow on my Palm ?
Does this mean wheat germs, bacteria-germs, virus-germs, or what??
One thing is certain:
Domestos (aka Chlorox) kills 99% of all known germs.
... Dead..
What comes next: Flying data haven? Potato powered server launched into space on amateur rocket?

Of course, it will be totally useless unless it can play pocket billiards :-)
It is obvious who owns _all_ ideas.... Amazon.com does :-)

To quote John Cooper Clarke:
What kind of creature bore you?
Was it some kind of bat?
They can't think of a good word for you,
But I can...
Twat.
Now _what_ is it they say about a fool and his money? Let me think...
