You buy a car, you get a good deal... but you can only fill up the gas tank at one of the brand's dealers. The car's low fuel indicator goes off when there is about 20% of the tank left and the car shuts off completely when 10% is left in the tank.
You get the car towed to the dealer for a fill up, the dealer drains the existing fuel in the tank, then charges you for a complete fill up at a price nearly 1/3rd the original cost of the car, resets the warning light and sends you on your way.
Rick Wagoneer and Bill Ford would be publicly hanged and beaten like piñatas
The Cadillac CTS, STS and Acura RL already do better than this. They download current traffic data via your XMRadio satellite connection and the NAV system in the car can use that data to route you around heavily congested areas.
sugar, soy, hemp, grass clippings/yard waste, switch grass, brewery waste, etc etc etc, can all be used in the biofuel making process and are all more energy dense than corn.
I know I'd have no problem driving my grass clippings down to the local collection facility if it meant not having a bloody war in the middle east.
I was sent a link to Lewis Black http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5G6yx_jJuoE/ ranting on Dick Cheney. After laughing my ass off at that one, I looked up other Lewis Black clips. He appears on The Daily Show regularly, so some of his clips are from there. So I started watching The Daily Show. Then I caught a bit of Colbert Report and enjoyed that too.
So now Viacom has me watching two shows every night because I saw some funny clips on YouTube.
Refusing to allow your job, in any field, to completely dominate your life is key. Too often people get so wrapped up in their job they make it the most important part of their life. The people close to them suffer as a result. A place I used to work at would treat fairly minor issues with the crisis level of an ER during the LA riots. I was stressed constantly, my partner didn't like being around me and was urging me to quit the job, my mental and physical health suffered. It was only after I said to myself "Hey, we make low end white sheets, why am I getting all worked up over this?" that everything suddenly got better.
Moral of the story, unless you work in an ER, don't allow your employer to work you like you're an ER doctor.
Rather than developing this, they should develop laptops that say, don't burst into flames randomly. I'm sure this feature is nice, but a non-melting power cord would be far more useful in my day to day activities.
the Gulf stream moves at 4.8 knots. If they're going to be fighting the current, their net forward movement will be somewhere between 2 and 3 knots.... or drifting.
how much gas did he waste by driving around to different stores to do this article?
It's rather simple:
1. Combine trips to stores.
2. Use the bus/public transit for work commutes.
3. Use something like pittsburghgasprices.com (my area) to find the cheapest gas within a 5 miles radius. Check frequently.
4. Don't drive your car like you stole it. See a red light far up ahead? Coast into it.
I have two vehicles, use the bus to commute to work, and consolidate my trips as much as possible. I fill up each vehicle every month and 1/2. Gas prices stopped bothering me once I got these habits down.
If you get a lot of false positives from your spam filter, it ends up becoming a pain to manage. At that point you'll probably switch to something else.

When I last tried to sell stuff on e-bay the only bids I got were from the postal money order scam artists. Sold my stuff on craigslist instead.
OO is a slug in performance compared MS Office 2003... and 2007 seems even faster.

Assuming that you only ever use corn... then ya.

The free market is more efficient than some socialist government project. There must be some error in the article.
The company obviously run by Democrats. [/republican]
Take that Brits! oh... wait.

There are already two great free wireless internet providers out there. All you have to do is set your SSID to Linksys or Dlink
check out my webpage, it's on a server embeded under my skin and shares power with my pacemaker.
the average user who is still running Win98 regularly patched their system anyway.
Well I for one welcome our new IPV6 overlords....
