Shouldn't the government do everything in its power to withhold services for companies who refuses to pay for them?
Apple sure likes the US courts time....
So, how many tickets have been issued to cops for illegal turns (no signals, running the red, etc)?
I often see the police doing the same thing they ticket others for doing.
Funny, RIAA doesn't have to use "demonstrable losses" when it sues.
Perhaps they could have a $250,000 per ebook overcharged "set fine" similar to music?
So you are saying by your comparison apple's products are overpriced?
Apple, HP, Dell, Acer and Lenovo all make their stuff in China. Most of it from common producers but some have 4% margins and some have 19% margins?
Seriously, how many "rich" actually go to jail?. .
Poor and steal a chocolate bar - Jail time...
Rich and steal $1MM - you are required to do community service and teach a 1 hour ethics course.
Oh boy, you responded to a 2 day old post to correct some sort of minor error?
Sure added a lot of value to the conversation, and a great use of your time as well.
I would think any american who plans to collect "old age security" (or whatever it is called) would be hurt. US old age security has long been a great place to stuff US bonds as it is considered "internal" debt.
Loans/mortgages and the like sometimes have a "Prime+" component to them.
A massive US dollar devaluation would be a tough political sell, not sure all those foreign nations who hold US bills would be happy.
My kids play the piano and occasional i try to find sheet music for them.
Amazing to see how much stuff from beethoven is locked behind a pay-wall or "copyright protected" book.
Let me guess, Beethoven is still pulling in royalties for his stuff? HINT: he was Born on December 1770 and died a long time ago.
Even if they were "pirating content that is 50 or 75 years old" someone would see it is relevant and "package" it together in an attempt to find a way to extend the copyright term. See the Disney model and how much of their catalog came from the public domain. Now they did it, you cant use the same storyboard as its protected.
And there you have one of the key problems with "content providers".
If they are not stealing from the public domain (Disney) they are doing sequels, prequels, and remakes.
Similar for music. Who buy's CD's anymore? Back in the day you would often find a CD with a few new songs and a bunch of filler which often was availble on otehr disks. Why would I pay full price for a CD if the artist cant be bothered releasing new material?
As for the "rent takers"... News flash, times are changing and your days are probably numbered. You can find a way to stay relevent, or fight it in courts but it is hard to put the genie back in the bottle.
Here's a thought, stop trying to "make a movie by numbers" and release something new?
We don't need no stinking CA tar sand oil.
You sure about that? Take a look at how much oil the US imports from canada.

So what are you saying exactly? She's not being held to any standard the father is.
The daughter doesnt need a contract or anything, she only confirms the father told somone. Her choosing to post to everyone else on FB only made matters worse.
You acknowledge the father told the daughter, since the contract had a confidentially clause this violated the conditions.
This month he was hoping to have a gold-plated shark tank bar installed right next to the pool, but thanks to people downloading his music for free, he must now wait a few months before he can afford it. Come. There's more. Here's Britney Spears' private jet. Notice anything? Britney used to have a Gulfstream IV.
Now she's had to sell it and get a Gulfstream III because people like you chose to download her music for free. The Gulfstream III doesn't even have a remote control for its surround-sound DVD system. Still think downloading music for free is no big deal?
Well, they can always just use the "Extraordinary Ability" clause of the EB-1 visa and have new "citizens" replace the existing ones in four years.
Look at the qualifications: You must meet 3 of 10 criteria* below, or provide evidence of a one-time achievement (i.e., Pulitzer, Oscar, Olympic Medal)
Won an Olympic metal before? Welcome to the USA....
Was just about to post the same thing. Wasnt there some global agreement over owernship of "foreign bodies" or such? Why do you need NASA's permission for something they dont own or control?
So you love the site so much that you all post "anti-beta" comments to every thread ruining it for the rest of us? Now we should also join your "boycott"?
Cant really read the posts anymore as they are just full of immature "f-beta" posts.
Most are AC's so you can just set the filter to +1 and get rid of most of them.
They probably know they are ruining the site, but dont care as their big "win" will be that their feedback is incorporated regardless of the inconvenience they caused everyone else.
Fortunately people such as yourself don't make these decisions. Out of curiosity, does this sort of logic apply uniformly? I mean if the plane to HK was full of US citizens would their deaths be within "accepted limits"?
Seems many terrorist organizations seem to feel the same way as you, what makes you different from them?
The lobbyists?
Oh wait, the people? They don't have a lobby group and so don't matter that much.
Only if the company is overseas where the cash hoard is. If apple takes the money back to the US (repatriation) they have to pay taxes on it.
They have tried to have special "one time only" repatriation adjustments to taxes in the past without luck.
Shouldn't the government do everything in its power to withhold services for companies who refuses to pay for them? Apple sure likes the US courts time....
"rich" people don't have income.... They do fancy things like take out loans against their stock options and a loan is debt, not income.
So, how many tickets have been issued to cops for illegal turns (no signals, running the red, etc)?

So, you are saying you are proud to overpay for products that allow apple to have that money?
PS. it is NOT in any US bank, or they would have to pay taxes on it. Its all offshore benefiting whom?
Seriously, how many "rich" actually go to jail?.

Perhaps you can explain the 2008 collapse? Wasnt it driven by sub-prime loans? How many billions of sub-prime loans exist?

Maybe the artists and middlemen need a pay cut?
As was nicely put in "south Park"

Seems its "Greatest strength" is also its greatest weakness (anonymous transfers)?
Had this been a case of your money being stolen from a real bank you would have several methods of recourse.
So you love the site so much that you all post "anti-beta" comments to every thread ruining it for the rest of us? Now we should also join your "boycott"?
"this is Dell, not Apple" - you sure you are not just holding it wrong?
Then they set a filter to get rid of most of you?
Seriously, posting anti-beta threads on EVERY post is just annoying everyone else. I would guess that they have read your immature posts already?
No mod points, but agree with you 100%.
