PC = Windows in this case. I can think of only a handful of games that have been written to run in Linux from the get go. Most seem to be ported over later by the community. Atleast, that has been my expirence with linux and gaming.
Dire Maul was considered a winged instance. MC, ZF, and AQ weren't winged, however ZF did have a circular design that allowed you to, for the most part, skip bosses that you didn't need to kill.
The philosphy behind "no new classes" is that Blizzard feels that they want to improve the balance of the classes that they currently have. Just by giving the Horde the paladin and giving the Alliance the shaman, they have been able to unlock those classes more. They can develop those classes without having to make one faction vastly more powerful than the other. They are also giving some unloved classes some attention.
Why add in new classes to upset a balance when they have improvements that can be implemented to the classes that they currently have? I am sure at some point they may add in a new class or two, but I applaud BLizzard for trying to fix what they have first.
I don't see having no new classes to be a flaw at all.
It is not a new concept, but its new in that they are making the new dungeons follow this same format because it works out so well. No more having to go to BRD and spend a large amount of time just doing one thing. Instead, you just go to the part you need to go to.
I don't think the article even implies or hints that this is a new feature. It seems to just be a new policy for Blizzard when making instances.
I, for one, applaud this change in how the dungeons are made.
So HBO is going after people who are downloading the episodes. HBO, who transmits the show over cable to anyone that might have a VCR who can record the show, and yet downloading is of the devil. Its pretty much the same thing. You will always have a few people who don't subscribe to HBO but still catch the episodes on tape from a friend. Now its more open for more people to see it, and these people will possibly get HBO if they don't already. Possibly even tune in and watch it at broadcast.
Kurzweil refers not to a collapsed supernova, but instead to an extraordinarily bright future in which technological progress has leapt by such exponentially large bounds that it will be... well, for lack of a better word: 'utopian'.
And everything will run on Windows and it will be a totally secure and resource efficent OS....
At what point will webmail companies start just sending you a hard drive instead of going through all the hassle of making a site with all the scripts and connections to the net to make a mail server? "Sign up with (clever name here)mail.com and recieve your own high storage email server!"
Has anyone even come close to using 2gb in gmail account? At some point in the attempt to top everyone else you just have to ask, "why?"
Why should we give up control? Our very own Al Gore invented the whole internet thing, so its ours.
However I propose this: if another country can take over the internet, then we should be able to take over the oil production in other countries. I'd let someone else give out new domain names in exchange for gas back under $1.00.
Everyone seems to think that world hunger or such could be improved or solved with the money spent on the shuttle and the ISS. Have you seen what happens to a lot of hunger efforts to 3rd wold countries? Donations aren't always recieved where they should due to personel salaries of the organizations doing the "humanitarian efforts". Food shipments get hijacked and aren't recieved by the people they are meant to feed. Not to sounds like a hippy, but there is too much greed selfishness in the world to allow for hunger to be eliminated.
I don't think the shuttle was a mistake in that having the shuttle was a mistake. I think certain elements and designs of the shuttle wa sa mistake, but the concept was not a mistake. Neither is the ISS concept. Execution, maybe. I agree that big budgets makes for wasteful spending. And mankind could learn just as much from probes on Mars as they could with sending a human there.
However, the technology that is created to get man to Mars is where the benefit comes into play. Not so much the destination, but the journey is where it will pay off. We won't learn much on Mars, but getting there is where the adventure and science will pay off.
News of fewer people going into engineering saddens me, but makes me happy at the same time. I'm in an engineering school, so that means less competition for me when I get out of school.
I think one thing that would get more people, atleast guys, into engineering would be more girls. There are very few girls in the engineering programs. Even fewer hot ones that aren't grungy and always reading a book from, say, Issac Asimov (no offence to those who like that author). You make killer money in engineering professions, but when you are at a party and talking to a girl, the first thing they hear is "engineering" which is immediatly followed by the thought "nerd".
Yes it is a hard professions to get through school with, but so is the medical field. There is no shortage of medical persons getting degrees (I am including nursing and doctors, et all in that). I do think the glamor and the social perception of the job also has a factor in it.
My only complaint with Wikipedia does have to do with people being able to edit articles. Namely, those people who use grammar in such a way that makes a sentence hard to read and removes any useful information that was contained in the sentence. I hate having to reead a sentence three times to figure out what it is supposed to mean. After a point, seldom used words makes a person sound stupid instead of more intelligent.
Beyond the possibility of vandalism, I think thats the Wikipedia's biggest flaw.
This reminds me an aweful lot like George Lucas' model for marketing the Star Wars films. Upgrade to THX sound and release a version. Digitally enhance the movies and release them. Put them in theaters. Release a DVD set for th original trilogy. Release a set with all 6 movies. Release a 3d version of the original trilogy. Correct me if I missed one or three.
Sadly enough, its a descent marketing stradegy. It annoys those of us who see whats going on, but the sheep of the world marvel and buy.
sooo... the virus lets in ELFs through the backdoor.. I hope I am summarizing this right. We all know pengiuns aren't very good watchdogs..watchbirds..
I know, let's put a penal colony on the moon! That way, we'd have cheap labor there, and could remove troublesome elements from our society. At least until they start raining gravity bombs on our head...
Thats not bad. Put the prison in orbit and say, "Sure, you can escape. I won't stop you."

Those Dell on site tech support visits to the crew while in orbit are going to suck. Imagine, its next to impossible to get an english speaking tech support rep from the USA.. imagine your odds while not on the planet!
It had worked for NASCAR all these years. Maybe we could even get sponsors. Just imagine, The Tide #2 launch vehicle, or better yet, the Viagra Space Launch Vehicle (VSLV). A big white rocket says nothing at all.

Another good site is Supercluster.org. It has good free software on it for download. Torque and Maui are pretty good pieces of software.

"A mainstay of Sims expansions are the objects.
"There are many handsome new objects that are used in the new venues that can be purchased for home use as well."
Does this include "Hot coffee" style objects for "home use" as well? New areas of virutal life that have yet to be explored.
It almost seems like Google is buying Microsoft... one executive at a time.
I agree. That was a lot like watching a political debate where the questions are just barely dodged. Much is spoken, but nothing is said.

I'm still waiting to get one of those clear laptops like in Hackers.
So this is sorta like a high tech lunar version of Hungry Hungry Hippos? I think I have my entry, I mean device, in the garage still.

Do you really want to go to space in a Chrysler that the goverment built?
