Here's a statement from Obama before the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works:
"However, as Congress considers policies to address air quality and the deleterious effects of carbon emissions on the global ecosystem, it is reasonable - and realistic - for nuclear power to remain on the table for consideration. Illinois has 11 nuclear power plants - the most of any State in the country - and nuclear power provides more than half of Illinois' electricity needs."
"But keeping nuclear power on the table - and indeed planning for the construction of new plants - is only possible if the Nuclear Regulatory Commission is vigilant in its mission. We need better long-term strategies for storing and securing nuclear waste and for ensuring the safe operation of nuclear power plants. How we develop these strategies is a major priority for me."
Seems like a reasonable position to me, growth is possible if there is sufficient oversight.
"... but too many developers use it for lifetime management (bad)."
Please elaborate!
To my understanding, using smart_ptr's to manage resource lifetime (as an aid to implement RAII) is considered good usage and best practice. e.g. see point 13 from Sutter & Alexandrescu's C++ Coding Standards. Are you disagreeing, and if so why?
Generally, "In-ear" plugs like the Sure ones are considered to be less damaging to hearing because you don't need to have the volume as loud (because of of the sound isolation).
Does anyone have any stats on the typical leakage from modern microwave ovens? I would venture to guess that its greater than 100mW, but there must be some stats (or regulatory limits) out there somewhere. (Yes, I'm too lazy to look myself).
Haven't you heard? Due to the Energy Policy Act of 2005, April fools day has been moved 5 weeks earlier, with "mod following" conventions, putting it on the next valid business day. Today is officially "April fools day". Have at it!
Direct quote from TFA:
"We expect that the biggest headache for users will be so-called in-place upgrades. While Vista was reasonable on all the machines where we performed a clean install, it was an absolute mess on the machine upgraded from XP, and this problem has been noted by others."
Ok, it said "absolute mess", not "abysmal", seems pretty close to the spirit of the article.
The findings described by this article are not so much about the "Big Bang Theory" per say, which is already fairly well accepted by cosmologists as a likely accurate view of the early universe.
Rather this is more about "Inflationary" theories, which describe the rapid expansion in the very ealry moments of the Univesrse.
This seems to be the first solid evidence supporting the theory that an Inflationary period occured in the early universe.
This man http://www.geocities.com/cjstender/McArdle.htm/ has been selling plots of the moon for at about thirty years. I still have a certificate for the plot that I bought in the early eighties (just $1.00).
Also, VC6 is not very good with C++ standard compliance. Moving forward should let you have a lot more flexibility with third party library availability.
Now, we need to understand that deleting illegal music on your computer is an extra privilege. If you are a Linux or Mac user, you should consider purchasing a regular Windows computer.

What does The Society for Mormon Philosophy and Theology have to do with Firefox anyway?

I'm wondering if they did anything to try to block the new QTFairUse6 from working. Does anyone have any knowledge or intelligent guesses about this?
As already remarked, something like "First Evidence supporting Inflationary Theory" would be closer.
