Actually, with a random kernel that kind of bug will occur much faster than previously so it will get fixed sooner and not after several years of lying dormant somewhere, probably used by some black hat hackers.
Corporations exist on a whim of the government, it is so simple even you should be able to understand that. That is the problem with the free market extremists like you - you want all the profits, but no personal responsibility. Accept unlimited personal liability for every business transaction and the government will treat you differently.
It is not that everything is racist, it is just what used to be acceptable, isn't anymore. Nothing wrong about it, really. Ethnic slurs used to be acceptable, they aren't anymore, and only actual racists complain about it.
Here's an interesting difference between USA and Germany: When Google or Facebook break the law in Germany and are fined for it - and the fines aren't even that high, maybe a couple of days of the company's profit - Americans are outraged. When VW breaks the law in the USA and gets an enormous fine that amounts to the yearly profit of the company, Germans generally agree that VW had it coming.
The German market is already safe for French beer. Actually, even safer than for German beer because the German position on what constitutes beer is only valid for beers brewed in Germany for the German market. Import beers have been exempt from this regulation for decades.
It is not quite similar because driving license is only restricting one single travel mode of many available, but if you insist comparing these two, yep, for all I care. Don't see anything wrong with that either.
Fools ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it.
Fools ignorant of history are doomed to post stupid shit on Slashdot. Long guns did not require a registration according to the Weapons Law of 1938. They were free for all - except jews and gypsies. Was there an armed uprising? Nope. Even before that the Weimar republic had very lax firearm laws leading to political parties establishing paramilitary arms. Armed uprising? Nope. Gun nuts and authoritarians generally go hand in hand.
You are free to travel, just not by driving. You can walk, you can use a bicycle, you can hire a taxicab, you can ride a horse. Driving a car on a public road, on the other hand, is a privilege.
Hitler rose to power precisely because nobody hindered his hate speech, and matter of fact, his rabble-rousing was supported by the government. These laws against incitement of hatred were implemented in the current way precisely so this would never happen again. You fail to understand that because you lack the required experience. You simply never had the opportunity to learn the lesson - yet. We did.
Programmer's guide to the IBM PC? Here in Germany a different book was popular for all that. PC Intern - a really thick book, one could kill someone with it.
The second world war had fuck all to do with speech making the point you are desperately trying to make kind of moot. My point, on the other hand, is that, saying "written in cyrillic" makes about much sense as saying that your rant is written in latin script.
Matter of fact, I do know, better than you think. I am German and I had to learn Russian at school back when there used to be not one Germany, but two. Nevertheless I actually like Slavic languages - except Polish, that one is fugly - and I have also learned Czech, so no regrets whatsoever in that matter, I still keep practising Russian and I am very fluent in it as long as I don't have to write. This is also the reason why I have more sympathy for the Russians than most and I've been called a Russian shill for that on this very website.
But Cyrillic is used by many languages, not just Russian. Serbs write both in Latin and Cyrillic script, Bulgarians write in Cyrillic - after all, they've invented it in the first place. There are also several non-Slavic languages written in Cyrillic, like Mongolian.

If the bugs are already there, they are bound to appear some day. Maybe even with the next kernel version.
By that logic doxing is also free speech and CNN has every right to warn anyone that if they won't shut up, CNN also won't keep silent.
ORLY?
If it was about engineering then that Miami guy wouldn't complain about jet engines. They are marvels of engineering compared to piston engines.
How exactly is a company that was established almost 15 years ago, a kind of a startup?

So you say that you finally have decided to be honest? Congratulations, I guess.
They have sighed the WIPO treaty.
Even voluntary participation has to follow laws. It is that simple.

It is not that good anymore, but that was not my point. Czechoslovakia has ceased to exist 25 years ago.
Can I borrow your time machine?
There is no dark side of the moon, really. Matter of fact, it's all dark.
The second world war had fuck all to do with speech making the point you are desperately trying to make kind of moot.

USSR had a serious problem with solid fuel chemistry so they used liquid fuel even in their ICBMs. That made their submarines so huge.

Yep, same here.
