  1. Slashdot vs Digg on The Rise of Digg.com · · Score: 1

I like slashdot more basically because, like a previous comment said, the comments and the userbase. People get more in depth and debate the topics more vividly. Just better information overall..

  2. Microsoft Supports Diversity on Windows Advantage Validation Process On Firefox · · Score: 1

It's good that they are throwing more support to other browsers instead of just IE. Sure IE has it's perks but so does every other browser, and it's good that they are making sure that they support some of these browsers better.

  3. Wow on New Server Chip Niagara · · Score: 1

I want one of these beasts for my home PC.. O_O Anyone see a price range on this thing? Also, I heard Intil is working on these kind of low power processors as well.. Maybe there will be some competition between them and Sun..

  4. Xbox v PS3 v Rev on 360 Costs Half As Much As PS3 By 2006? · · Score: 1

Well it seems like the battle between Xbox and PS3 has been won by Xbox, though we can't determine for sure considering neither consoles are even released yet. But where does the Revolution come into play? Honestly I think it's going to be apart from the competition and have it's own sucesses. The revolution is so different from the 360 or PS3 that it may end up being very successful as well, but with a different part of the consumers. Then again, it could just as easily be the biggest mistake in console gaming as well..

  8. For now.. on In-Game Advertising Reaching Audiences · · Score: 3, Insightful

I think it may work because people aren't used to seeing ads in games, and IMO they shouldn't. It was probably the same case online, when people weren't used to seeing ads on webpages, they may have noticed them more, but now most people are used to seeing ads on the net and usually disregard them.

If ads are put in games, people will most likely get more used to them after awhile and start to disregard them as they do now with website ads.

I've never played the game or even heard much about it, but it sounds like the kind of game I would hate. I really hate having to "work" for 2 years before you can get into the end game content one bit. But, then again that is just a personal preference. The point I'm making is that some people do enjoy this type of game, it's a different game and not one I would enjoy personally (based on your comments on the game), but that doesn't mean other people wouldn't like. You said it yourself that there are some nice things about the game and some people would think that these positive sides of the game outweigh the downsides.

It's all about personal preference.. :)

  18. Good news! on Kirby, Meteos Designer Creates Indie Studio · · Score: 1

Meteos is one of those fun yet simple games, very kool. I personally love the DS and think this is awesome news. Hopefully they continue to produce quality games and help the lifespan of Nintendo. Nintendo is quite Rapidly loosing support from other game developer companies, and this is something that will help.

  20. Re:uneducated public (re: Microsoft's history) on The Company Everyone Loves To Hate · · Score: 2, Insightful

Windows is great for the normal person who uses computers for everyday things. But for programmers, or other tech things, Windows isn't the best option. I think that most of the people who state their opinions on OS's are the people who actually care. Most of the people who are satisfied with Windows don't care to post their opinion on it compared to other OS's because as far as they know, they don't know the names of any other OS's.

So basically, the majority of the people who don't like Windows are programmers or something of the sort, and it just so happens that they are the majority of the people who state their opinions of Windows...

  21. Re:Anyone played both? on Guild Wars Hits the Million Mark · · Score: 3, Informative

It's all personal preference. Guild Wars and WoW are very different, aside from the fact that they are both MMORPG's. Guild Wars is based almost entirely on PvP, while WoW takes time and effort to reach top level and engage in serious PvP, Guild Wars takes very little time to get to top level, in fact, you can even make a character that starts as the max level.

Some people believe this defeats the purpose of an MMO, some peoplethink it highlights the only good part of MMO's, but like I said, it's just personal preference.

  22. MMO's on Guild Wars Hits the Million Mark · · Score: 4, Informative

I think Guild Wars is more for the casual gamer in the since that it doesn't have a High max level and is based on PvP. It doesn't take 2 years to get to top level and actually have fun, but at the same time you can get the best stuff in the game effortlessly and kinda defeats the purpose. That, along with the fact that there is no monthly fee are the main reasons it is such a good competition with WoW.. IMO.
